NFL Week 2 Parlay Picks: Player Touchdown Parlay at 28.14 Odds

NFL Week 2 Parlay Picks: Player Touchdown Parlay at 28.14 Odds
IMAGO / USA TODAY Network The Tennessean Running back Derrick Henry (22), in action against Seattle Seahawks in Seattle

Week 2 of the NFL regular season comes around just as quickly as Week 1 ended, kicking off with Philadelphia Eagles welcoming Justin Jefferson and the Philadelphia Eagles to Lincoln Financial Field on Thursday Night Football.

We turn our attention to Sunday’s slate, where the 13 games are headlined by the match-up between AFC Championship rivals Kansas City Chiefs head to Jacksonville to take on the Jaguars in the 6pm state before the Dallas Cowboys look to do the New York double when they welcome the Jets to AT&T Field at 9:25pm.

Sunday Night Football sees an AFC East clash as the rampant Miami Dolphins head north to take on Bill Belichick’s New England Patriots, having won just two of their last 14 trips to Foxborough.

Our NFL expert Joshua Jones has a 28.14 player prop parlay for Week 2 of football action, so if you want more from him, visit our Expert Insights section.

Seattle Seahawks vs Detroit Lions: That’s My Jahm-yr

United States, NFL, Sunday, September 17, 18:00 (UK)

There were scoffs and ridicule when the Detroit Lions took Alabama’s Jahmyr Gibbs 12th overall in the 2023 Draft, with the lack of positional value offered by the running back a huge talking point for most of the preseason.

When it came to last Thursday’s NFL opener; some people were expecting big things. The narrative on Gibbs had flipped through training camp, and finally it was time for him to deliver – and that he did, kind of. Gibbs didn’t really get the workload many expected, only seeing nine touches to David Montgomery’s 21, but he really showed out with his limited opportunities and now looks likely to draw an increased workload.

He completed seven rushes for 42 yards at six yards per carry, while catching both of his target for 18 yards and picking up a first down on a third of his touches. Interestingly he also averaged 4.9 yards after contact and forced the most missed tackles (6) in the league despite his limited opportunities.

Gibbs faces a Seahawks defence on Sunday that did not cope well against running backs last year, specifically pass-catchers, and that continued in their Week 1 matchup with the LA Rams. Seattle allowed the 6th most rushing yards, the 5th most receiving yards, and the 7th most total touchdowns to running-backs in 2022 and allowed a league-high three rushing scores on opening weekend.

  • Selection: Jahmyr Gibbs Anytime Touchdown Scorer
  • Best Odds: 2.30

San Francisco 49ers vs Los Angeles Rams: Gorgeous George Goes Global

United States, NFL, Sunday, September 17, 21:05 (UK)

Two of the NFL’s biggest winners from week one face off in an NFC West clash at So-Fi Stadium, with the victors taking pole position in the division.

Matthew Stafford and his rag-tag group of misfits shocked the Seattle Seahawks out on the west coast, with WR3 Tutu Atwell and fifth round rookie Puka Nacua going off for 119 yards each in the absence of Cooper Kupp.

Elsewhere, the Niners delivered a statement win on the road in Pennsylvania – dismantling a much-hyped Pittsburgh Steelers side for a 23-point victory in a devastating display of defensive dominance. Brock Purdy looked solid in his first outing since tearing his UCL in the NFC Championship game, hitting Brandon Aiyuk for 129 yards and two first half scores.

George Kittle was mainly utilised for his pass protection and run blocking against Pittsburgh’s elite front four and only caught three passes for 19 yards, but I expect him to get a lot more work against the Rams.

He has traditionally been Purdy’s favourite end zone target, hauling in seven of Mr.Irrelevant’s 15 regular season touchdowns. The 6’4 tight end was clearly a safe pair of hands for his rookie QB in 2022 and that connection should continue this season.

In 11 career matchups against LA, Kittle averages 70 receiving yards per game and has six scores in nine dating back to 2018.

  • Selection: George Kittle Anytime Touchdown Scorer
  • Best Odds: 3.10

  • Stake: 6/10

Los Angeles Chargers vs Tennessee Titans: The King Is Back In Nashville

United States, NFL, Sunday, September 17, 21:05 (UK)

It’s pretty rare that one of the NFL’s most feared men doesn’t make it into the end zone and I’m not banking on lightning striking twice.

Derrick Henry finished last Sunday’s defeat at the hands of the New Orleans Saints with over 100 scrimmage yards but wasn’t able to get over the line as the Titans fell 16-15 in the Superdome.

This weekend he faces a much softer unit in the Los Angeles Chargers that allowed an NFL-high 5.6 yards per carry last year, and gave up 101 rushing yards and a touchdown to this man last December.

‘King’ Henry was the only man to run for 1500+ yards and at least 13 scores in the 2022 regular season, and has scored a rushing TD in each of his three career starts against the Chargers.

The box score looks like they kept it tight at the weekend against the Dolphins tandem of Raheem Mostert and Salvon Ahmed, allowing just 48 yards on 13 carries at 3.7 per carry, but it was clear there were weaknesses in their defensive front.

Last year they were historically bad at stopping runs outside their tackles which, unfortunately for them, is where Derrick Henry excels. Against the Saints last weekend, the Titans went for 7.4 yards per carry when hitting those gaps and New Orleans are much better against the run than LA.

  • Selection: Derrick Henry Anytime Touchdown Scorer
  • Best Odds: 2.10

  • Stake: 8/10

Miami Dolphins vs New England Patriots: Hill Hell For Bill Bel

United States, NFL, Monday, September 18, 01:20 (UK)

Few players had a better return to NFL action last weekend than Tua Tagovailoa, throwing for 466 yards and 3 TDs, and now he leads his Miami Dolphins into Foxborough to take on NFC East rivals New England Patriots.

One player you could argue did was his teammate and favourite target Tyreek Hill, who caught 11 passes for 215 yards and two touchdowns as he was in rampant mood against the Los Angeles Chargers.

The Cheetah made mincemeat of Derrick Ansley’s man coverage defense, and he was cooking DBs all day – creating 2.5 yards of separation in a foot race with JC Jackson on a 35-yard score to put the Fins up 27-24 late in the 3rd.

What should be most worrying for opposing teams is that Hill thinks he’s got even better in the offseason. Speaking after the Chargers game, he claimed he’s been ‘working on his release moves and routes at the top’ rather than relying on pure pace and ‘outrunning guys’.

Now he faces a Patriots defense that, traditionally, favours a lot of man coverage and one he’s had a lot of success against in the pass. Hill has six scores in six games against Bill Belichick’s unit across his time in Miami and Kansas City, and averages 92 yards per game.

Hill is a lot better with Tua under centre, averaging 116 yards per game with the him compared to just 75 per game without him. He also has seven receiving TDs in eight games while catching passes from the Alabama-graduate, dating back to November 2022.

  • Selection: Tyreek Hill Anytime Touchdown Scorer
  • Best Odds: 2.25
  • Bookmaker: 888sport
  • Stake: 6/10
