We have arrived at Week 9 of the NCAA football campaign, and Ej is breaking out a 3-game combo from the abundance of Saturday games on the schedule. With a pair of underdogs and a total in mind, Ej’s accumulator comes in with odds at 6.75, so let’s see if he can bang out a 3 for 3 weekend in Week 9!
Remember to read through Ej’s articles because he drops little suggestions within a game that you shouldn’t miss if you are looking for some extra action to put on the board!

CENTRAL FLORIDA VS WEST VIRGINIA: MOUNTAINEERS A LIVE DOG AGAIN!
West Virginia arrives in the Sunshine State on Saturday for a high-noon kick-off against the Central Florida Knights as 7-point underdogs, and that has my attention right away. The Mountaineers were underdogs against both TCU and Texas Tech recently, and they won both of those games outright. The line setters have slapped the chalk on them in their last two games, and they both amounted to losses to Houston and Oklahoma State.
I like West Virginia much more in the underdog role because the pressure comes off of them and goes right to the Knight’s sidelines. Even though the Central Florida defense is atrocious which has led to four consecutive losses, the oddsmakers want us to lay a touchdown on the home team, and that just makes no sense to me.
As much as I love to think dog and put points in my pocket, this total also has to be included here. This game is going to be more like a 38 – 35 affair, and I see a 58.5 showing on this total. Here in New York, I use BetMGM for combos and parlays and I am quite literally getting a combo of West Virginia +7.5 and Over 58.5 with odds at 3.30, and that is smashing!
Bet365 has 1.91 on the +7, however, and this weekend I am breaking out a 3-gamer on its own with the Mountaineers, UNLV, and the Over in Hawaii because I can’t believe my eyes with the odds we’re getting for it.
At 6.95, we only need three things to happen and I think West Virginia can easily win this game outright much less cover the +7. Although both teams are defensively weak, I think the Mountaineers’ offense with the leadership of Garrett Greene will be the difference in the outcome of this affair.
Greene is the team’s second-leading rusher with 349 yards to his credit, and he has taken care of the ball extremely well only handing out 2 interceptions over his 6 starts of the campaign. Luckily, he has C.J. Donaldson in his backfield, and he has already seen the end zone six times 453 yards gained on the ground.
I honestly just see this as a game that comes down to the final possession, and I don’t expect either team will have a double-digit lead at any point of the contest. A close game gives me +7 on the Mountaineers, and don’t forget to splash my SGP that I suggested too.
FRESNO STATE VS UNLV: REBELS WITH A CAUSE ON SATURDAY
Our second pick of the night will be from the Fresno State vs UNLV game.Outside of a loss to Michigan, the Rebels are perfect and are riding a 5-game winning streak into Fresno on Saturday. In case you didn’t read my pre-season futures article that I posted before the campaign started, I have that Michigan team winning the entire kit and kaboodle this year!
So, a loss to Michigan is nothing to feel ashamed about, and it obviously didn’t get this Rebels team down either as they’ve reeled off five straight wins since that loss I am certainly aware that the Rebels’ schedule hasn’t exactly been filled with stout opponents since that loss to the Wolverines, but Fresno State has their own issue coming into this game.
Mikey Keane is dealing with dual leg injuries and it looks as if he is not going to be active for this game as a result of that. That means Logan Fife has to run the ship for the Bulldogs, and that is one hell of a concern for me!
Fife has been with Fresno State for 3 seasons now, and he has thrown a total of 5 TD passes along with 7 interceptions over that span. He has made 5 appearances in 2023, and I am just not impressed enough to think that he can run up the score on the Rebels, at home or not.
The one man I do fear a bit is Malik Sherrod who had a big game last weekend with over 130 yards rushing with 3 scoots to paydirt against Utah State last weekend. Let’s make no mistake that the Bulldogs’ schedule hasn’t exactly been filled with good teams either, and this is such an evenly-matched game that I don’t get why we’re getting the +7.5 in this spot.
UNLV is 3 – 0 in Conference play to this point, and they are 6 – 1 covering the lines so give me those Rebels to cover that +7.5 spread and hang around all game long!
SAN JOSE STATE VS HAWAII: CHEVAN CORDEIRO RETURNS TO HAWAII
We get our only Totals bet of the parlay from the San Jose State vs Hawaii game. Chevan Cordeiro spent four years playing in Hawaii before transferring to San Jose State in the window, and now he gets to go back to Honolulu for the first time since his departure. Cordeiro has certainly struggled at times this season, but of late he is playing his best ball and a trip to Hawaii is what any Doctor would order to have a good time!
San Jose State will be having a good time for 60 minutes on Saturday because no one should be using the words defense and Hawaii in the same sentence if you get my drift. This Rainbow’s squad has been watching guys run over them, past them, and through them this season, and they’ve allowed 40+ points to their last three opponents.
UNLV was one of those teams to do that along with San Diego State and New Mexico, and let’s just be honest, shall we? The San Diego State offense is pure rubbish and New Mexico’s offense isn’t much better than them!
San Jose State is running on all cylinders entering this game, and I expect them to be the fourth consecutive team to drop 40+ on Hawaii. Kairee Robinson has found his way to the end zone 11 times already this year, and the 573 rushing yards will be a number that gets boosted nicely after he exits Honolulu.
Watch for #32 to run the ball, catch the ball, and do it all with flare on Saturday, as the Spartans dump 56 points on Hawaii to almost hit this total by themselves! When you find the Spartans team total at 35.5 for this game, I suggest that you bet that with vim and vigor because they will smash that number to pieces!
