LSU TIGERS VS MISSOURI TIGERS: CRASH THE GAME TOTAL
The LSU Tigers got lit up for 55 points last weekend against Ole Miss, and I am not even remotely convinced that their head coach Brian Kelly has the chops to fix the defense. LSU won’t be seeing the likes of Grambling again anytime soon, so that result to me means absolutely nothing when we take in the entire body of work for the Tigers through the first five games of the season.
LSU carries a 3 – 2 record into this game, and both losses came against potent offenses the likes of Florida State and Ole Miss. Even a pretty bad Arkansas offense found 31 points against LSU, and I watched every minute of the debacle last weekend against Ole Miss.
LSU was favoured to win that game by a field goal, and a 55 – 49 loss left me far from impressed Quinshon Judkins and Ulysses Bentley IV were the only two players to tote the rock for Ole Miss, and they combined to pick up 267 rushing yards which doesn’t even include QB Jaxson Dart’s 50 yards on the ground.
The Tigers allowed 317 yards on the ground and tacked on 389 yards of passing offense to Ole Miss, and Missouri has Cody Schrader in their backfield ready to eat up rushing yardage this weekend.
Schrader needs 37 yards to topple the 500-yard mark in rushing, and despite being limited last weekend against Vandy he will not struggle to find open holes against a sorry LSU front seven.
Let’s talk about the Missouri QB now, because my man Brady Cook knows how to do the most important thing that a QB can do. NOT THROW THE BALL TO THE WRONG DAMN TEAM!!
With 11 TD passes to his credit along with 1468 passing yards, Cook has a total of NO interceptions, baby! That is all the facts that I need, and I have pounded the Missouri Total over the last 3 weekends… Let’s make it four straight as points will be scored in this SEC battle on Saturday.
VIRGINIA TECH HOKIES VS FLORIDA STATE SEMINOLES: SMASH OUT THE POINTS
First of all, let’s start with a play that I like that will hit before the first half is even done. So, let me tell you that I looked into all of the betting options that the line setters give us, and when I saw the low team total for the Hokies it got me to thinking.
What will the line be in the first half regarding the Virginia Tech team total? It’s 6.5, which means that the Hokies need to put together one damn drive before halftime that results in a touchdown. A few field goals would still get us there, but I don’t trust the Noles’ defense as much as the line setters seem to.
No one is going to compare the Hokies offense to anything special, but they did have a bit of breakout last weekend dumping 38 points on Pitt. That is still momentum that will give the Hokies some early confidence, so grab that Over 6.5 team total along with my suggestion on the game total from this affair.
As you have read here before, I have talked about this Florida State offensive line and those 206 returning starts from their front line. Florida State will score all 53 of the points we’ll need to cash this total, but the Hokies will still find a way to contribute toward it.
While the Noles’ offense has been highly successful in 2023, they have not been held to under 31 points in any of their first five games. The Florida State team total for the game is listed at 38.5 and that is also a play that will fly over that number on Saturday.
As you also might have read here at Bettingexpert, I predicted that the Florida State QB would be at the Heisman Trophy ceremony at the end of the regular season hoisting the hardware, and he has done nothing to disprove that hypothesis yet!
Travis helped mount the comeback that helped the Noles take down the Clemson Tigers last weekend, although I do have to credit the Noles’ defense for coming up with the turnover and touchdown that tied the game late as overtime was needed to decide the winner.
Travis’ pass into the end zone in overtime to Mr. Coleman was quite an impressive finishing drive to the game, and the Florida State defense did find a way to keep Clemson off the board resulting in a 31 – 24 Florida State victory. If you watched ESPN College Gameday as I did last Saturday, you watched nearly everyone on their panel talking about how Clemson is still the cream of the ACC, but that is not the case in the least.
Travis’ numbers overall thus far might not be convincing enough to have anyone thinking he can win the Heisman Trophy, but as long as the Seminoles keep winning these big games that will be the most important factor. He has only thrown for barely over 1,000 yards through 4 games, but with the 10 – 1 TD to INT ratio along with a deep backfield behind him, I don’t think that any team can slow down the Noles for 60 minutes.
You can grab both of the other options I suggest for this game on team totals, but be sure to tackle this total to fly over the 52.5 points so you can enjoy another winning weekend of college football betting.
