Mike ‘Platinum’ Perry (13-6) came into the UFC as an undefeated pro, looking to climb the divisional rankings. After two consecutive wins, he would face defeat for the first time in his professional career against Alan Jouban. Since that day, Perry has lost five times in the UFC and has a UFC record of 6-6 heading into his fight with Mickey Gall.
Mickey Gall (6-2) is a gifted grappler in the welterweight division and is coming off a unanimous decision win over Salim Touahri. Gall is 5-2 in the UFC and has lost to UFC veteran Diego Sanchez and Randy Brown.
Both men are 28-years old.
Mike Perry’s Three Last Fights
LOSS | Geoff Neal | UFC 245 – Usman vs. Covington Dec / 14 / 2019 |
TKO (Head Kick and Punches) | 1 | 1:30 |
LOSS | Vicente Luque | UFC Fight Night 156 – Shevchenko vs. Carmouche 2 Aug / 10 / 2019 |

WIN | Alex Oliveira | UFC Fight Night 150 – Jacare vs. Hermansson Apr / 27 / 2019 |
Decision (Unanimous) | 3 | 5:00 |
Mike Perry is 1-2 in his last three UFC fights. Three fights ago, he faced Alex Oliveira in a tough fight. Perry would end up getting the nod from all three judges, granting him a unanimous decision win over the Brazilian veteran. Then, Perry would take on welterweight prospect Vicente Luque and would lose a very close split-decision in one of the most eventful UFC fights of 2019. Perry actually managed to outstrike Luque in rounds one and two, but the judges saw more significant action from Luque which was enough to give him the win on two judges’ scorecards. Perry last fought against Geoff Neal, in a fight that seemed to highlight the gap between the top 10 and the unranked Mike Perry.
Mickey Gall’s Three Last Fights
WIN | Salim Touahri | UFC on ESPN 5 – Covington vs. Lawler Aug / 03 / 2019 |
Decision (Unanimous) | 3 | 5:00 |
LOSS | Diego Sanchez | UFC 235 – Jones vs. Smith Mar / 02 / 2019 |

WIN | George Sullivan | UFC Fight Night 135 – Gaethje vs. Vick Aug / 25 / 2018 |
Submission (Rear-Naked Choke) | 1 | 1:09 |
Mickey Gall is 2-1 in his last three UFC fights. On August 25th, 2018 Gall fought and beat George Sullivan with a quick and effective first-round submission. His quick win would grant him a shot at UFC veteran Diego Sanchez, a fight that the up-and-comer would go on to lose via second-round TKO. Gall didn’t look like himself in that fight, being dominated on the ground and on the feet until the referee had seen enough. Gall blamed his poor performance on kidney issues complicating his training camp and preparations for the fight. However, he would leave it all in the past and win his next fight with a solid performance over Salim Touahri. Now, Gall steps into the cage with Mike Perry and tries to make it two in a row in the co-main event of UFC Vegas 4.
Gall vs Perry Betting Markets
Currently, bookmakers have Gall as the biggest underdog on the UFC Vegas 4 card, at odds 3.40. A quick calculation will tell you that bookmakers give Gall a 30% chance of winning his fight with Mike Perry. Perry, the 1.33 favorite, hasn’t looked great in his last few performances. Sure, he went the distance in a slugfest with Luque, but his style lacks technique and as a fighter, he lacks fight IQ. Gall could get a few takedowns here and there to secure this win, but we only see it happening via a decision.
Finishing Mike Perry is not easy to do, and only heavy-hitter Geoff Neal has been able to do it. Gall doesn’t have the most dangerous striking, and his boxing is still evolving, so to find some value on the underdog, we’re suggesting having a look at the method of victory market, where Gall to win a decision is priced at 7.50. In the H2H market, we don’t see either fighter being valued, but generally, it is a dog-or-pass situation for us.
Fight Prediction
Perry is the rightful favorite in this matchup, but he has showcased a lack of fight IQ and his corner is questionable. Recently, Perry made the decision to part ways with his coaches, and now only has his girlfriend in his corner for his fights. Gall is still young and fresh, and he has taken much less damage in his career than Perry has. Gall also has the grappling advantage in this fight, and Perry might lack the composure to win this fight on the scorecards. Perry will definitely have the striking advantage though, as we see on the numbers.
On the ground is where Gall will have his chance, and his takedowns could end up being the deciding factor in this fight. Perry does have great takedown defense, however, and is tough to take down.
We predict Mickey Gall to get the win here. He is young and still evolving. Perry’s recent solo-venture is worrisome, no longer being a part of any gym, and not having anyone in his corner isn’t good for a young fighter.
