A  21.5 is being placed on the total pointing me to another 3-set affair which I like to predict. I will apologize for the last couple of days, as I need to pick up the pace as we hit midweek.

I like this Over 2.5 sets prop because these two recently met in Madrid and provided a 3-hour thriller, 7 – 5, 5 – 7, 6 – 4. The games added up because they were both broken constantly, so if you find the prop bet for breaks of serve… SMASH THAT! 

These two ladies can be quite adventurous holding first service points; everyone knows that is a setup for disaster. I expect many a disaster to take place today in this second round of section 1 clash, and the game count will do what it did Madrid. 

The second round of a Major event has not been kind to the Bulgarian native, as Tomova is 0 – 4 but coming off a semifinals in Rabat could build some confidence.

Tomova won two of her three titles last season on clay, albeit in ITF and Challenger events, and she does have six clay titles to her credit. Viktoriya’s 3-year run of double-digit wins on clay could be in jeopardy unless she makes a deep run in Paris. 

At 7 – 6 on the dirt, Tomova is having a down campaign with a 17 – 18 overall record but I expect an inspired version on the court today against Wang.

Xinyu has alternated wins and losses on the clay swing of the tour after a 2 – 5 record on the dirt in 2023.

VIKTORIYA TOMOVA RECENT FORM

Tomova has never won a second-round affair in a Major, and she is the underdog in this match against her Chinese counterpart Xinyu Wang.

Viktoriya has taken Wang to three sets in their last two meetings, although both matches ended in losses.
