Whitney Osuigwe comes into Mexico en fuego after running off five wins at the Santo Domingo event with a trophy on the mantle for the effort. It was a WTA50 ITF event, but at least Osuigwe is the one playing well between these two players on the court today.
I dipped to the challenger level because I couldn’t believe we got Osuigwe with such a decent line. Heather Watson has one win against Lola Radivojevic over the last eight outings dating back to last season, and it seems like every time I see Watson on a card, she can’t find a win to save grace.
Losing the last four outings since the win against Radivojevic at the Australian Open, it is hard to believe the line setters would give away Osuigwe in Mexico, but they did!
Instead of setting for the marginal juice, you can assume I would move that line to the handicap and lay the -1.5 games to get -115 odds. I don’t think Watson will challenge Osuigwe so in classic Rainmaker fashion, it’s time for a +179!
I hope you recall Friday’s call with Kessler where I have +137, +138, and +400 odds that all hit!
I’ll take the hot player over the cold player every day and twice on Tuesday, so we take advantage of it until Watson snaps out of it or Osuigwe slows down.
They are only separated by 11 spots in the WTA Rankings and are outside the top 200 to start the week. Osuigwe slid up to 217th after the Santo Domingo title run, and Watson slipped to 206th after dropping her fourth straight decision.
