Odds as of 7:00 am UK Time on December 5, 2024. Odds may now differ.
Elsa Jacquemot is listed at -165 to take out Jimenez Kasintseva on Thursday and I am convinced that the Lyon native will be a gracious host. That means we are calling for the upset because being in France doesn’t make Else Jacquemot a better tennis player.
Jacquemot was a -500 favorite against Lucky Loser Yasmin Monsouri in the first round and it was an adventurous three-set affair that came down to a 7 – 5 final frame.
Jimenez Kasintseva was involved in a wild three-set affair to open this event with wildcard entrant Sara Cakarevic after looking so convincing to open the match. A 6 – 1 first-set win turned into a 7 – 6 second-set loss for the Andorra native who finished the victory with another 6 – 1 third-set result.
I expect this match to go the distance but I didn’t want to sound like a broken record by posting another Over 2.5 Sets prop.
I am surprised that Kasintseva chose this hardcourt event over the Florianopolis Challenger in Brazil this week. Jimenez Kasintseva would much rather be on clay but I expect her to hold her own en route to a quarterfinal appearance at this indoor hardcourt event in France.
Ranked 159th and 146th, there isn’t much separation between these ladies and I think the line setters inflated the line on Jacquemot because we’re in France. It might attract more action from favorite bettors who blindly put lines like -165 to fill parlay cards.
Expect the upset and think underdog with Kasintseva at +125!
