Suzan Lamens vs Moyuka Uchijima Prediction, Picks, Odds, H2H, Stats - 3/18/25

Suzan Lamens and Moyuka Uchijima will meet in Section 6 of the main draw at the Miami Open on Tuesday as the first round gets underway from Miami Gardens.
A match against Anna Kalinskaya in the second round of this WTA1000 event from the Sunshine State is at stake for the winner of this clash, and the Japanese native is favored to be her next opponent.
At odds of -135, Uchijima is expected to advance, but Suzan Lamens knows what it takes to defeat her opponent today from their experience in Trnava last year.
EJ Garr’s prediction for Suzan Lamens vs. Moyuka Uchijima features odds of +135, which can be found below.

Suzan Lamens vs Moyuka Uchijima WTA Miami Open Prediction: We’re Going The Distance
- Prediction: Match Total Over 2.5 Sets
- Best Odds: +135
- Bookmaker: Pinnacle
- Stakes: 3/10
Odds as of 7:00 am UK Time on March 18, 2025. Odds may now differ.
It was nice going 2 – 0 to start the week on Monday, and we cashed yet another Over 2.5 sets prop to boot. (That line moved nicely to +158 with Lys and Ito to go the distance)
I have this match going the distance, but we only have +135 odds on the Over 2.5 sets prop. Call it a hunch, but Uchijima just took a set against Coco before the loss at Indian Wells, and despite the loss, it was still a good showing against a player ranked in the top 10 of the WTA Tour.
Lamens pushed Marie Bouzkova to three sets before bowing out at Indian Wells last week, and she opened the week ranked 70th. Uchijima is slightly ahead of her at 53rd trying to crack the top 50, and a couple of wins at a WTA1000 event would be a good way to get there.
Bouzkova cracked the top 50 this week as she gets her game back in order, but it will be tough for Lamens or Uchijima to get there.
Uchijima is favored at an average odds of -125, and Bet365 is up to -140 for the Japanese native to advance to the second round. Being favored doesn’t make him the better player, so I am not buying the juice, nor would I play the -1.5 games with reduced juice of -110.
Lamens can upset Uchijima, and I expect them both to win a set before the victor is decided in the third frame.
SUZAN LAMENS RECENT FORM
Suzan Lamens is 10 – 8 this season and hasn’t won more than two outings at any of the first eight events of the campaign.
Lamens won two matches in Brisbane and a pair in Dubai to account for the two mini-win streaks in 2025. The Dutch native went 44 – 27 with three tournament wins in 2024, and reached 87th in the WTA Rankings. Somehow, she’s jumped to 70th in 2024 with no real quality wins.
MOYUKA UCHIJIMA RECENT FORM
Moyuka Uchijima has a reverse 8 – 10 record in 2025, yet she is ranked 53rd on the WTA Tour.
Uchijima started the year with a 2 – 6 record but picked up three wins in Dubai including a quality victory over Jelena Ostapenko.
LAMENS VS UCHIJIMA HTH – STAT OF THE MATCH
Suzan Lamens defeated Uchijima in straight sets at a WTA75 event in Trnava last season. This is the second meeting between them.
