Suzan Lamens is enjoying her stay in Asia and the Dutch native will be favored against Cristina Bucsa in the second round at the Hong Kong Tennis Open.

Although Bet365 is posting odds well past -160 on a Lamens win, most bookmakers average -135 on the same offer so be on the lookout for the best offer out there.

Lamens has been playing inspired tennis after earning her third title in Osaka 10 days ago and our WTA expert expects more success in this second-round affair.

EJ Garr’s Suzan Lamens vs Cristina Bucsa prediction features odds at -112 which you can find below.

Suzan Lamens vs Cristina Bucsa Prediction: Riding The Hot Hand

  • Prediction: Suzan Lamens -1.5 Games Handicap
  • Best Odds: -112
  • Bookmaker: Pinnacle
  • Stakes: 3/10

Odds updated at 7:00 am UK Time on October 30, 2024.

Suzan Lamens has a hot hand, having won 8 of her last 9 outings, including a run to the Osaka title 10 days ago in Japan. Lamens didn’t follow that tourney win up with anything special after a first-round loss to Marie Bouzkova in Guangzhou.

Finding that inspiration should come easy with Cristina Bucsa across the court today because I see tremendous value in the -1.5 handicap for Dutch success. At -112 for Pinnacle users, they are posting -137 on the Moneyline for Lamens which is better than the -163 bet365 is showing.

I was surprised to see that discrepancy but finding the best line we can is always important to me although I would never touch -137 anyway.

Lamens reached a career-high 88th-ranked ranking listing the Osaka trophy but currently occupies the 91st spot entering Hong Kong. The loss to Bouzkova dropped the rank 3 points, but I expect a bounce-back effort from the Dutch native today at the Hong Kong Tennis Open.

Bucsa started the week ranked 71st and opened this event against Hong Yi Cody Wong… in Hong Kong. I’m sorry, I had to do it.

Cristina didn’t face any adversity in the first round other than dropping her first serve in the second set but a 6 – 3, 6 – 3 win was good enough to progress.

I will call for a straight-sets victory and +160 is hanging around the BWin board on a Lamens 2 – 0 correct sets prop.

SUZAN LAMENS RECENT FORM

Suzan Lamens won the first WTA-level event in her career with the win in Osaka and the 25-year-old Dutch native needed 7 wins from qualifying to the final match.

Lamens made quick work of 170th-ranked Xinyu Gao in the first round at 3 and 0 in straight sets.

The Dutch native is 23 – 13 on hard courts this season and has a 40 – 24 record to secure a fourth straight campaign with a winning record.

CRISTINA BUCSA RECENT FORM

After a horrible 4 – 1 record during the North American swing, Bucsa is 6 – 3 in Asia coming off a loss to Lucrezia Bronzetti in Osaka.

Bucsa is in jeopardy of producing her first losing record since turning pro in 2019.

Cristina is 14 – 17 on hard courts this season with a 24 – 28 record so unless she makes a big run this week the 26-year-old Spaniard is facing a losing campaign.

LAMENS VS BUCSA H2H –  STAT OF THE MATCH

Suzan Lamens and Cristina Bucsa are playing for the first time at the Hong Kong Tennis Open.

The winner of this match will advance to face either top-seeded Diana Shanider or Priscilla Hon in the quarterfinal.
