After a title run at the Thailand Open, Rebecca Sramkova will again face Tamara Zidansek after the two clashed in the semis in Hua Hin only two days ago.

The Slovakian is listed at -150 to get past the Slovenian for a second time and EJ Garr’s Rebecca Sramkova vs Tamara Zidansek prediction features odds at -108 which you can find below.

Sramkova will be sporting a new ranking in the morning which should see the Slovak slide into the top 100 for the first time in her career.

Rebecca Sramkova vs Tamara Zidansek Prediction: A Slovak On A Mission

  • Prediction: Rebecca Sramkova -3
  • Best Odds: -108
  • Bookmaker: Pinnacle
  • Stakes: 3/10

Odds updated at 7:00 am UK Time on September 23, 2024.

The last time we met to discuss a Sramkova match she was taking on Magda Linette as a big +5 underdog. After dismantling the Polish native easily to help us cash that ticket, I am not about to fade the Hun Hin Champ after the run to the Thailand Open title this weekend.

At -150 to win the match, Sramkova will be able to cover the -3 on the handicap at -108 after dismantling Zidansek two days ago. Zidansek had been 2 – 0 against Sramkova going into that semifinal affair but this year has simply been a bit of a disaster for the Slovenian whose ranking has fallen to 261st on the WTA Tour.

Sramkova broke Zidansek four times in the semifinal clash in Thailand, and despite not having a dominant serve the Slovak does enough to hold the games when they matter most. It’s almost insulting that Sramkova has to go through the qualifying process in this WTA1000 event and I hope she uses it as motivation to pick up this win today over Zidansek.

Zidansek picked up her first 3-match win streak in Thailand since June and the Slovenian native hasn’t played well on this surface this season. The three wins in Thailand account for almost all of Zidansek’s wins on hard courts in 2024 after starting the campaign 1 – 8.

I can’t be convinced that Zidansek can upset Sramkova today and I expect a similar result from the semifinal affair that finished 6 – 4, 6 – 2.

REBECCA SRAMKOVA RECENT FORM

Rebecca Sramkova is 9 – 1 in her last 10 outings after the 5 – 0 run in Thailand to hoist the hardware in Hua Hin. Sramkova reached the final in Monastir, Tunisia before the event in Thailand and the Slovak has banked a pair of titles in 2024.

Sramkova is 21 – 9 on hardcourts this campaign and has a 35 – 19 record.

Watch for Sramkova to appear inside the top 100 of the WTA Rankings when the new list arrives tomorrow.

TAMARA ZIDANSEK RECENT FORM

Zidansek is 4 – 9 on hardcourts this season and for the fourth time in six years, the Slovenian is facing a losing record. At 17 – 19, Tamara has to finish the campaign strongly to avoid that from happening.

Zidansek won three matches in Thailand and all three of those affairs needed three sets to push the Slovenian through to the semis.

SRAMKOVA VS ZIDANSEK H2H –  STAT OF THE MATCH

Tamara Zidansek holds a 2 – 1 edge in the series with Sramkova although Rebecca just won their match at the Thailand Open two days ago in straight sets.

Zidansek won the first meeting with Sramkova at the 2023 US Open in a match that went the distance. The two went the distance again a month later in Bari, Italy won by Zidansek in three sets.
