Rebecca Sramkova vs Magda Linette Prediction, Picks, Odds, H2H, Stats - 18/9/24
Magda Linette carries the 4-seed in the bottom half of the bracket, and the Polska native will be a heavy favorite against Rebecca Sramkova in the second round of the Thailand Open.
At odds surpassing the -400 plateau, Linette struggled to find wins in North America but is expected to ease her way into the quarterfinals of this WTA250 event in Hua Hin, Thailand.
Sramkova was pushed to three sets in the first round against local Thai Mananchaya Sawangkaew ranked 195th on the WTA Tour.
EJ Garr’s Rebecca Sramkova vs Magda Linette prediction calls for a closer match than the experts think, so check out his tip at even money odds below.

Rebecca Sramkova vs Magda Linette Prediction: A Slovakian Surprise in Thailand
- Prediction: Rebecca Sramkova +5 Games Handicap
- Best Odds: +100
- Bookmaker: Pinnacle
- Stakes: 3/10
Odds updated at 7:00 am UK Time on September 18, 2024.
Rebecca Sramkova faces an uphill battle as a big underdog against Magda Linette. The 102nd-ranked Slovak could use a win over a top-50 opponent (Linette 43) but no one is expecting miracles.
Sramkova’s camp might be hopeful of an upset but the first thing that came to my mind was the number we would get on the handicap game count. At +100, an elven money offer on the +5 has good potential to cash because Linette is not playing her best tennis.
The win over Tsurenko was a tougher battle than it should have been in the first round for Linette and Sramkova battled through a 3-set affair with local Mananchaya Sawangkaew who is a tough out despite the 195 ranking.
Linette took 3 weeks off after the loss to 293rd-ranked Iva Jovic at the US Open while ending the North American swing with one win from the last four outings. That is not how to gain confidence, and the mental side of the game is enormous.
The loss to 644th-ranked Usue Arconada at the US Open was embarrassing for Sramkova. That loss was directly responsible for keeping Rebecca out of the top 100 in the WTA Rankings for the Slovak. Despite the line setters’ expectations, she can make life difficult for Linette today with some early momentum and a break or two.
I will call for a close match and a cover of the +5 handicap on the Slovak to keep this match interesting against a big favorite.
REBECCA SRAMKOVA RECENT FORM
Sramkova rebounded after the loss to Arconada at the US Open with four wins and a trip to the finals at Monastir, Tunisia last week. She gave Kartal quite a battle for that trophy and that win over Sawangkaew wasn’t easy.
Sramkova got past the local Thai in three sets to improve her hard court record to 17 – 9 this campaign.
MAGDA LINETTE RECENT FORM
Magda Linette has a harsh 6 – 12 hard-court record this season and the Polish native might not deserve such a convincing line of -425 to win any match lately.
Linette’s loss to Iva Jovic in New York was a hit to her ego and the 1 – 1 record at the Olympic Games was another disappointment this season. With a 2 – 3 record in the last five outings, Linette is now 25 – 22 this year needing a strong finish to the campaign to stay above the .500 mark.
SRAMKOVA VS LINETTE H2H – STAT OF THE MATCH
Sramkova and Linette will be playing against each other for the first time today at the Thailand Open.
