Qinwen Zheng and Barbora Krejcikova will play in the first of two semifinal affairs at the WTA Finals on Friday in Saudi Arabia, and the China native is the favorite to reach the final.

Zheng clinched the second spot in the Purple Group winning four of the six sets played in the group and finished behind Aryna Sabalanka who will remain the World’s #1 no matter who wins this high-profile year-end event.

With Bet365 showing a -200 on the odds for Zheng to reach the final, Krejcikova has been the underdog in all three matches at the WTA Finals but still secured the top spot in the Orange Group.

EJ Garr’s Qinwen Zheng vs Barbora Krejcikova prediction features odds at +143 which you can find below.

Qinwen Zheng vs Barbora Krejcikova Prediction: We’re Going The Distance!

  • Prediction: Match Total Over 2.5 Sets
  • Best Odds: +143
  • Bookmaker: Pinnacle
  • Stakes: 3/10

Odds updated at 7:00 am UK Time on November 8, 2024.

I only have a couple more opportunities to say we’re going the distance with the year-end WTA finals coming to a close this weekend.

Well, there it is because I expect one hell of a battle from Krejcikova and we know Qinwen Zheng is fired up for this semifinal!

There is a $3.7M paycheck waiting for someone to claim for winning this year-end title and money has already been made throughout group play.

Money is not the motivator at this point because Krejcikova has already banked over $15M from her playing career and Zheng went over the $6M mark this year with big wins which don’t even include the Gold Medal in Paris.

Besides this match going three sets, I expect Krejcikova to cover another handicap and I see +3.5 games to put in my pocket. The Czech Republic native took the top spot in a group with Iga Swiatek and Coco Gauff, although she did face the American who had already clinched her spot in the other semifinal being played after this match.

We enjoyed that Under for the Krejcikova vs. Gauff affair because Coco wasn’t about to put up a big effort with the semis already clinched and that’s exactly what we got.

Krejcikova will cover the +3.5 games and this match is headed for a three-set thriller. The spread offer is -115 at Pinnacle and the Over 2.5 Sets prop lands at +143 so enjoy a pair of cashed tickets from the WTA Finals in Saudi Arabia.

QINWEN ZHENG RECENT FORM

Qinwen Zheng is showing no signs of slowing down and you can find many previews out there calling for Zheng to be tired and out of gas. I don’t know what event they are watching but Zheng wants another crack at Sabalenka and the only way there is through Krejcikova.

The line setters seem to like the China native’s chances but we have seen throughout the week that Barbora Krejcikova is just as hungry to finish the year with a bang.

Zheng’s record on hard courts improved to 31 – 11 for the season. The China native is 9 – 3 from 12 semifinal appearances.

BARBORA KREJCIKOVA RECENT FORM

Krejcikova’s record on hard courts improved to 9 – 8 after the straight-sets win over Coco Gauff bringing her to 21 – 15 for the 2024 campaign.

Barbora has won a doubles title at the WTA Finals and is two wins away from claiming a singles trophy in Riyadh.

Krejcikova won 38 games during the group stage to secure the Orange Group’s top spot and has a pair of top-10 wins this week. Krejcikova entered Saudi Arabia ranked 13th and gained entry to the WTA Finals with the Wimbledon title.

ZHENG VS KREJCIKOVA H2H –  STAT OF THE MATCH

Qinwen Zheng defeated Barbora Krejcikova last October in the finals at the Zhengzhou Open, and the China native hoisted the trophy after dropping the first set,

It is the only meeting on the WTA Tour between them.
