She’s back! Petra Kvitova makes her long-awaited return to the WTA Tour after 17 months away from the action.

The former World’s #2 originally claimed she was retiring from tennis at 33 years old. After having her first son Petr, her husband/coach is supporting her return and will be by her side during the comeback trail. After such a lengthy layoff from competitive action, it will take time to get back into game shape, but Kvtova is all in and is ready to fight again.

The line setters know what we know, and making Kvitova the slight underdog at -110 might seem surprising taking on 189th-ranked Jodie Anna Burrage to open this WTA250 event in Texas.

Kvitova will be 35 in less than two weeks and the aging veteran will have a wealth of experience to rely on. The former two-time Wimbledon champion was a constant in the top 10 WTA Rankings throughout her career.
