It’s time for the quarterfinals of the US Open to get underway and the first match of the day features Paula Badosa and Emma Navarro.

The Spaniard arrives at the quarters favored at -135 to advance past the American but Navarro will have the Arthur Ashe crowd supporting the underdog in New York.

Emma Navarro won’t be seen pandering to the crowd on the biggest stage in tennis but the American will let her play do the talking after taking out Coco Gauff in the fourth round.

EJ Garr’s Paula Badosa vs Emma Navarro prediction features odds at +375 so you have to check out this tip full of value below.

Paula Badosa vs Emma Navarro US Open QF Prediction: A High-Noon Showdown At Arthur Ashe

  • Prediction: Emma Navarro To Win 2 – 1 Sets
  • Best Odds: +375
  • Bookmaker: Bwin
  • Stakes: 3/10

Odds as of 7:00 am UK Time on September 3, 2024. Odds may now differ.

Paula Badosa is on the verge of becoming the first semifinalist from Spain at the US Open in nearly 30 years, and the line setters put the chalk on the former World’s #2 at -135. Being favored doesn’t mean much at this point and it’s like that’s an insulting line against Navarro.

What I like about Emma is the approach with her attitude because you don’t see her pandering to the crowd to get them riled up in support. Emma doesn’t put her hand to her ear or raise her racquet with screams and yelling, although I wish she would start doing it a little.

Navarro is stone-cold during the match and you couldn’t tell if she was holding a pair of twos or four aces at the poker table. Maintaining your emotions is a big part of her game and the New York crowd will be there for her as long as the 2021 NCAA Champion plays winning tennis.

Badosa is back to her status and despite the hiccup against Gabriela Ruse ranked 122nd in the world, Paula cruised into the quarters against Yafan Wang as expected.

Nick Kyrgios interviewed Emma in the post-match after her win over Coco and straight-up asked her if she could win this tournament. Emma cracked a smile and said, “Yes I can!”

At +375, Emma to win this match in a 3-set thriller hits the board because the Mayor of Value City says so!

PAULA BADOSA RECENT FORM

Paula Badosa is 14 – 2 since returning to North America including a title run in DC and a dash to the semis in Cincinnati. The former World’s #2 just broke into the top 30 and that number will likely be moving up after the US Open.

Badosa was facing match point against Gabriela Ruse and rebounded to win the third-round battle but that is the only slight in her 4 – 0 run in New York.

EMMA NAVARRO RECENT FORM

Emma Navarro is ranked 12th on the WTA Tour and the upset win over Coco Gauff sent a few shockwaves around the Billie Jean King Tennis Center. Maybe because Coco’s serve went to rubbish but Emma earned the win with a consistent serve and did great staying in long rallies.

Navarro is a college champion from her 2021 win at Virginia and she has appeared in back-to-back quarters in a Major for the first time in her young career.

Emma picked up win #51 with the victory over Coco, and this is following up a 64 – 24 2023 campaign. Navarros is 29 – 10 on hardcourts and will have a winning record on all three surfaces for the second straight season in 2024.

BADOSA VS NAVARRO HTH –  STAT OF THE MATCH

Emma Navarro is seeking revenge for the loss to Badosa in Rome this past May, an affair the Spaniard won in three sets. It was a first-round loss for Emma in a WTA1000 event who left Rome winless.
