Familiar foes meet again as Ons Jabeur and Sofia Kenin face off in the third round of the Qatar Open with a spot in the quarterfinals in the balance.

Kenin and Jabeur have faced each other seven times since 2017.

The American native has five wins against her Tunisian opponent.

The line setters are pointing to a convincing victory for Jabeur at -300 odds on the Tunisian to advance to her third quarterfinal appearance in Doha.

EJ Garr’s prediction for Tunesian tennis player Ons Jabeur playing a forehand shot vs. Sofia Kenin features odds at +179, which you can find below.

Ons Jabeur vs Sofia Kenin WTA Qatar Open Prediction: Familiar Foes In Doha

  • Prediction: Match Total Over 2.5 Sets
  • Best Odds: +179
  • Bookmaker: Pinnacle
  • Stakes: 3/10

Odds as of 7:00 am UK Time on February 12, 2025. Odds may now differ.

Ons Jabeur hasn’t enjoyed much success at the Qatar Open over her career. This is the 10th appearance in Doha for the Tunisian native, and two quarterfinal showings have been as good as it gets. 6 – 10

This is Sofia Kenin’s fifth appearance at Doha, and this year’s third-round outing is the furthest she has come thus far. Kenin improved to 3 – 4 in seven matches at this WTA1000 event, and the American hasn’t been scared of taking on Jabeur.

Despite having met only once in the last four years, these two are probably looking forward to this match, and I hope they give us a show. Kenin has renewed vigor, and the effort against Alycia Parks will continue to help the American regain her confident form.

Jabeur destroyed Qinwek Zheng in the second round to build her confidence entering this match after a top-10 win. The match didn’t start strongly for Jabeur after losing her first two service games, but the Tunisian rebounded to earn a straight-sets victory.

I have this match going the distance, and the lovely +179 offer from Pinnacle puts a big smile on my face!

ONS JABEUR RECENT FORM

One Jabeur is 10 – 4 this season and needs only six wins to match last season’s 16 – 14 campaign. The 30-year-old Tunisian native started the week ranked 35th on the WTA Tour and was 2 – 6 on hard courts last season.

Jabeur has defeated McCartney Kessler and Qinwen Zheng this week and is chasing a third straight win for the first time since Brisbane.

SOFIA KENIN RECENT FORM

Sofia Kenin is ranked 73rd on the WTA Tour, and the former World’s #4 fell to 228th after the 2022 season.

Kenin is 7 – 4 in 2025 and produced a miserable 16 – 26 2024 campaign.

Kenin has defeated two Americans in Doha this week. With a straight-sets win against Ashlyn Kreuger to open the event, Alycia Parks pushed Kenin to three sets before moving on to the third round of the Qatar Open.

JABEUR VS KENIN HTH –  STAT OF THE MATCH

Ons Jabeur and Sofia Kenin have met 7 times since 2017.

Jabeur won their first meeting at Indian Harbor Beach in 2017, and Kenin has won five of the last six meetings.

Their most recent clash was last season in Rome, and Kenin defeated Jabeur in three sets on the clay.

The winner of this match will face Jelena Ostapenko or Jasmine Paolini in the quarterfinals of the Qatar Open. Check for my preview and prediction for that third-round affair today.
