Odds as of 7:00 am UK Time on January 29, 2025. Odds may now differ.
Jil Teichmann began her trip to Singapore in qualifying. After two straight-set wins, she reached the main draw and pounded Harriet Dart in the first round at 3 and 1 to reach the second round of this WTA250 event.
The Swiss native has only lost 14 games in the tournament and her first three-game win streak since September last season. Teichmann has a nice start in Singapore but these three wins have come against players ranked 173rd, 183rd, and 98th on the WTA Tour.
Jil Teichmann started the week ranked 128th and the bottom bracket is set up nicely for the 27-year-old to make a run to the semifinals. A potential clash with Joint or Wang in the quarterfinals will likely have the Swiss native favored again in the next round no matter the opponent.
Gadecki faced Uchijima in the opening round and I blew my call on the under for that match. I didn’t expect a three-set affair to break out but that’s exactly what Gadecki needed to advance past the Japanese native.
Even if this match goes three sets, I can still envision a 16 – 13 game count with Teichmann covering the -1.5 spread.
The total is listed at 22 games so the line setters expect a good bit of back-and-forth in this contest. That is not an easy number to hit in two sets. It would take a tie-break to hit that from one set and it would still take a 6 – 4 frame to get over the 22 games.
OLIVIA GADECKI RECENT FORM
Olivia Gadecki snapped a five-loss streak dating back to last October with the first-round win in Singapore against Uchijima.
The 22-year-old is ranked 107th on the WTA Tour and with a 39 – 28 record last season completed a fourth straight campaign with a winning record.
JIL TEICHMANN RECENT FORM
Jil Teichmann has a 5 – 1 record over the last six outings and is playing doubles in this event with partner Anna Schmiedlova.
Teichmann produced a career-high 39 wins in 2024 and was 31 – 10 on clay with losing records on hard courts and grass.
