Oceane Dodin and Belinda Bencic will compete in the third of four quarterfinal matches at the Open Angers Arena Loire on Friday in France.

At odds of -333 at BetMGM, Bencic is expected to be a semifinalist as she returns from a year-long absence after the birth of her first child.

Our WTA expert called for Bencic to win this tournament before the first round kicked off on Monday and he is expecting another convincing win for the Swiss native to end the week.

I told you all on Monday that Bencic would win this tournament and Oceane Dodin will be the Swiss native’s next victim on Friday. BetMGM features a line of -333 on Bencic to advance to the semifinal of the Open Angers Arena Loire although bet365 is still hovering just over -300 for a Bencic win.

Bencic’s return to the tour with just a few tournaments left before the 2025 campaign has gone well outside the Timofeeva walkover in Petange. The two convincing wins this week will undoubtedly build confidence for the former top-10 Swiss native and being strongly favored today is no surprise.

I am not toying around with the -4.5 handicap because a lot can happen and Bencic is still working her way back to game shape. So far, so good! Bencic has won all four sets at the Angers Challenger and three ended at 6 – 1 including both sets against Mariam Bolkvadze in the second round.

Dodin has two wins this week against Brenda Fruhvirtova and Linda Fruhvirtova. I was rather disappointed in the latter who flopped and cost me the total for that match so I apologize! Neither Fruhvirtova should see an investment of any type and now we know for sure.

I am counting on Bencic to ease past Dodin in straight sets and the -105 on the 2 – 0 Correct Sets prop is ripe for the picking.

OCEANE DODIN RECENT FORM

Oceane Dodin is 8 – 3 over the last 11 outings with a finals appearance at Petange as part of the run.

After a big 2023 campaign including five tournament wins and a ranking inside the top 100, Dodin started the week ranked 113th on the WTA Tour.

With a 30 – 15 hardcourt record, Dodin is 32 – 22 in line for a second straight winning campaign.

BELINDA BENCIC RECENT FORM

Belinda Bencic is competing to end the year to prepare for the 2025 season ahead of her year-long absence from tennis. Being a Mom presents other challenges but getting past Dodin is the only challenge in front of her today (Or maybe a diaper or two, HA).

Bencic ranked 4th during the 2019 campaign and hasn’t been in the top 10 over the last five campaigns. The Swiss native has lingered around 12th – 23rd in the WTA Tour for four years and was 17th before leaving in September 2023.

The Swiss native has a 6 – 1 record since returning to tennis with an unofficial loss after exiting the Petange event before the quarterfinal against Timofeeva.

Dodin and Bencic met in 2022 in Sydney and after winning the first set the France native fell in three sets to her Swiss opponent.
