Parrizas-Diaz is the 6-seed in this WTA125 Challenger event but the Spaniard is listed as the underdog against her first-round Swiss opponent.

Teichmann has taken the last month off and is favored at -135 to advance to the next stage.

While Jil Teichmann has been away from Tennis for a month, Nuna Parrizas-Diaz has only played one match over the last six weeks. 

Parrizas-Diaz was last seen on October 28 at the Merida Open in Mexico before the stop last week at the Open Angers Arena Loire. The Spaniard is getting used to bouncing from event to event because she’s lost 5 of the previous 6 outings and is the underdog to open Le Open de Limoges.

Despite being the 6-seed and ranking 36 spots ahead of her opponent, Parrizas-Diaz hasn’t shown any confidence in her game and the line setters are on to it.

I think the -135 price on Teichmann is fair enough, and I expect plenty of bettors to use the Swiss native in a parlay with marginal odds to win this match. I am always looking for better value and the -1.5 spread at -105 tickles my fancy.

Amazingly, this is the fourth meeting between Parrizas-Diaz and Teichmann this season, and Jil has had the better of the Spaniard twice in the three affairs. I’ll get more into that later, but I expect more from Teichmann than I can from Parrizas-Diaz, and covering a couple of games shouldn’t be tough.

Bet365 is offering +165 odds on a sweep of the Spaniard for Teichmann and I will splash the pot with a little play on that action to complement the main offer of -1.5 at -105.

Nuna Parrizas-Diaz is 1 – 5 over the last 6 outings and 3 – 5 on hard courts since October 9.

Parrizas-Diaz starts the week holding the 99th spot in the WTA Rankings clinging to a place inside the top 100.

The 33-year-old  Spaniard is 21 – 13 on hard courts this season carrying a 41 – 28 record ensuring a second straight winning campaign.  

JIL TEICHMANN RECENT FORM

Jil Teichmann has been away from tennis for a month and is 5 – 4 on hard courts since October 8. Teichmann defeated Parrizas-Diaz in the final of the Ljubljana Challenger in Slovenia to pick up tournament win #2 in 2024.

Teichmann is 8 – 10 on hard courts this year but has a 39 – 21 record because of the 31 – 10 record on clay.

PARRIZAS-DIAZ VS TEICHMANN HTH –  STAT OF THE MATCH

Nuna Parrizas-Diaz and Jil Teichmann have met four times on the WTA Tour and The Swiss native is 3 – 1 against her Spanish opponent.

The two first met last season in June on the Birmingham grass and Teichmann swept Parrizas-Diaz during qualification for the main draw.

All three meetings in 2024 have been on clay, the first coming this past July at Montpellier where Teichmann again swept Parrizas-Diaz.

In September, at Montreux, Switzerland, Parrizas-Diaz upset the Swiss native in three sets on home soil, and the two met nine days later.

On September 15, Teichmann won the Ljubljana event and hoisted the trophy against Parrizas-Diaz in the final in straight sets.
