Mirra Andreeva has been doing double duty in Paris and is a quarterfinalist as a singles and doubles competitor at Roland Garros as she faces Aryna Sabalenka on Wednesday. Ej’s Andreeva vs Sabalenka prediction features odds at -102 and can be found below.

Andreeva finds herself as a considerable underdog at +350 against the World’s #2 player on the WTA Tour, but she has plenty of experience on clay to rely on.

Sabalenka only has Iga Swiatek to blame for two losses that held her back from winning titles at Madrid and Rome, and the two might be on a path to meet again in Paris with the French Open title on the line.

ANDREEVA VS SABALENKA PREDICTION: WORLD’S #2 EYEING SEMIS IN PARIS

  • Prediction: Aryna Sabalenka -5 Handicap
  • Best Odds: -102
  • Bookmaker: Pinnacle
  • Stakes: 3/10

Odds as of 7:00 am UK Time June 5, 2024. Odds may now differ.

Mirra Andreeva won’t be shocked to find out she is a big underdog in Paris against the #2 player in the world, as a pair of Russians meet in the quarterfinals of the French Open.

Andreeva is competing in her second Major at Roland Garros, and this is the fifth Major appearance for the 17-year-old who calls Cannes, France home. The French have been the most accepting nation toward Russian players, as we have seen with Gracheva and others.

Regardless, Andreeva has not been intimidated as a youngster competing in her first quarterfinal at a Major event, and she just got past Gracheva in the fourth round to get here.

Andreeva and Zvonereva have also reached the quarterfinals in doubles play, so it has been a busy week in Paris.

Sabalenka is on a mission to run into Swiatek again hoping to exact some revenge over the Polish #1. Swiatek is already through to the semi and now Sabalenka is a step away from that stage.

Aryna has not even lost more than 2 games but twice from her 8 sets played in Paris, and made easy work of a hot Emma Navarro in her last outing.

My natural concern is for the serve to become an issue for Sabalenka, although each time I expect her to struggle a little she kills it and does fine. I think Sabalenka can get past Andreeva easily, and the -5 games at odds of -102 are worth the action.

Sabalenka has her head down and is motivated to keep winning matches on clay, and unless your name is Iga I am not fading Aryna in Paris. I see the 2 – 0 Correct Sets offer is -140 at most sites, and I think the line setters are onto something there. My Andreeva vs Sabalenka prediction is for Sabalenka to cover the 5-game handicap.

MIRRA ANDREEVA RECENT FORM

Andreeva is 10 – 3 on clay this season, and she is on the verge of her first semifinal appearance in  Major at only 17. She is the underdog so it will take a monumental effort to get past the World’s #2 on Wednesday.

Mirra has never come close to taking a set from Sabalenka in their three meetings, but she does have four clay titles to her credit at the ITF level.

ARYNA SABALENKA RECENT FORM

Aryna is on a mission to win a clay event in 2024, and this is her last chance to do it as the grass swing of the tour kicks off next.

Sabalenka defended her Australian Open title to start the season with a Major win, and she reached the semis in Paris last year marking her best finish in 6 showing at Roland Garros.

ANDREEVA VS SABALENKA H2H –  STAT OF THE MATCH:

Sabalenka has won all 5 sets that have been played against Andreeva, as one of their meetings was a 1-set battle at the World Tennis League last December.

Each of their two other meetings happened in Madrid, and Sabalenka eased past Andreeva in straight sets.
