Maria Sakkari vs Jessica Bouzas Maneiro Prediction, Picks, Odds, H2H, Stats - 4/14/25

Maria Sakkari is favored with odds reaching -225 to pick up a first-round win at Le Open de Rouen. Still, Spaniard Jessica Bouzas Maneiro won’t be intimidated on the clay of France, and our WTA expert has warned us all about the Greek fading down the rankings.
Currently at 82nd on the WTA Tour, Sakkari has fallen from grace as Ej said she would, and he is fading the Greek again.
EJ Garr’s prediction for Maria Sakkari vs. Jessica Bouzas Maneiro features odds at -116, which can be found below.

Maria Sakkari vs Jessica Bouzas Maneiro WTA Open de Rouen Prediction: Greek Heavily Favored Over Spaniard
- Prediction: Jessica Bouzas Maneiro +4 Games
- Best Odds: -116
- Bookmaker: Pinnacle

Odds as of 7:00 am UK Time on April 14, 2025. Odds may now differ.
Remember? I told you months ago that Maria Sakkari won’t even be in the top 50 of the WTA rankings before long, and it didn’t take much time, as it’s only April.
I stand by what I said about Sakkari, and she proves me right because her tennis game is not up to snuff. BetMGM has the most juice at -225 for a Sakkari win, but you can find it a little cheaper at -189 odds through bet365 if you’re interested.
Lose interest in any of that noise because we are fading the Greek with every opportunity, and +4 games is quite a nice number for Bouzas Maneiro to cover.
How did their first meeting go? Sakkari was favored with odds of -200 at the United Cup this past December 28, and Bouzas Maneiro smacked Sakkari around with a straight-sets win.
If you don’t think the Spaniard recalls that effort four months ago, especially the type of thrashing she handed the Greek native at 1 and 2, Bouzas Maneiro might be asking why she isn’t the one favored.
The +177 offer for Bouzas Maneiro to upset Sakkari at Pinnacle is the best line I can find ahead of BetMGM, which features +170 for the upset special.
I will make my main bet the +4 with Bouzas Maneiro, but I will sprinkle a few chips at the Spaniard at +170 to pull off a first-round upset in France. Fading Sakkari is only getting easier, and the Greek native might be out of the top 100 before we get to the second Major of the season.
MARIA SAKKARI RECENT FORM
Maria Sakkari was ranked in the top 10 from 2021 to 2023, and the Greek native has slowly fallen in the other direction. Sakkari ended 2024 ranked 32nd, and she is down 50 spots in the WTA Rankings to 82nd to start the week in France.
With one title on clay from the 2019 title win in Rabat, the dirt hasn’t been a strong surface for Sakkari in her career.
JESSICA BOUZAS MANEIRO RECENT FORM
Jessica Bouzas Maneiro is 4 – 1 over the last five outings and ripped off two wins at the Billie Jean King Cup last week for Spain.
The 69th-ranked Spaniard has eight clay titles to her credit and has never produced a losing record on the dirt. Bouzas Maneiro went 21 – 9 on clay last season with one title from the Antalya Challenger, but secured three tournament wins in 2024.
SAKKARI VS BOUZAS MANEIRO HTH – STAT OF THE MATCH
At the United Cup last December, Jessica Bouzas Maneiro handed Sakkari an epic beating, 6 – 1, 6 – 2, as a +160 underdog.
The winner of this match will face Sonay Kartal or Varvara Gracheva in the second round of Le Open de Rouen.
