Maria Sakkari carries the #1 seed at Bad Homberg but we’ll see how the Greek native uses it as motivation as she struggles to get in form.

Sakkari was listed as -225 favorited in Rome against Azarenka, and she didn’t even win a set in the fourth round against her. Maria was a -600 favorite against Gracheva in her first match at the French Open, and once again it resulted in a loss.

Sakkari met Azarenka again in Berlin last week to start the grass season, and in her opening match, the Greek flopped in straight sets. 

If that is supposed to convince anyone that Sakkari has a lick of confidence, I must be watching another sport. I am sorry but I do not have it to suggest you put your hard-earned cash on anything Maria Sakkari is doing.

Cocciaretto is gaining confidence from her run in Birmingham including wins over Ostapenko and Sloane Stephens playing the underdog role in each game.

The +3 Handicap toward Elisabetta is a little juiced at -130, so I will pocket the +2.5 games and hope the Italian provides the upset win over a struggling Sakkari.
