This is almost entirely because many who bet on this sport may not be well acquainted with Zhou, but I like his game in these conditions and think against a veteran struggling for form, he could very well be competitive in front of a supportive home crowd.

I’m not saying he’s guaranteed to pull off the upset by any means, but he does have the weapons and Mannarino has been struggling enough to make me believe that he should win this match north of 20% of the time – giving me enough value to place a small wager.

Adrian Mannarino Recent Form

After having won just three matches in 20 tournaments dating back to February, the veteran from France may be turning things around. He’s a modest 4-2 in his last six contests, which may not be a large sample, but after three wins in six months, I’m sure he’s happy to win any match he can.

The thing is, he’s beaten some poor or volatile players. Now, Zhou may fall into that group, but it’s not like a guy that’s needed three sets to beat Nikoloz Basilashvili and Terence Atmane should be this big of a favorite against a new and volatile, but talented player.

I’m going to oppose the 36-year-old at this valuation and I’ll be fine if he ends up losing.

Yi Zhou Recent Form

Zhou has spent most of his time and has nearly all his wins down on the lower ITF circuit, and he’s taken his lumps in some Challenger matches, but he’s also flashed signs of brilliance with his ball striking here and there and could certainly pose problems for the crafty, yet underpowered and shockingly error prone Mannarino.

It’s not like he’s a no-name prospect that is going nowhere in the future and I’m happy to try and catch some value on him early.

Adrian Mannarino vs Yi Zhou H2H – Stat of the Match

Zhou is pretty new to the professional game, especially at this level, so it’s no surprise this is the first encounter between these two.
