Magda Linette backed into the quarterfinals of the Abu Dhabi Open and has a battle with Linda Noskova for a spot in the semifinals.

After dropping the first set to Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova, Linette was battling back in the second frame before her opponent had to remove herself from the tournament.

Noskova has cruised to a pair of easy wins at this WTA500 event in the UAE and the Czech Republic native is a heavy favorite to reach the final four of the tournament.

EJ Garr’s prediction for Magda Linette vs. Linda Noskova features even odds which you can find below.

Magda Linette vs Linda Noskova WTA Abu Dhabi Open Prediction: Semifinals In The Balance

  • Prediction: Magda Linette +4.5 Games
  • Best Odds: +100
  • Bookmaker: bet365
  • Stakes: 3/10

Odds as of 7:00 am UK Time on February 6, 2025. Odds may now differ.

Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova won the first set against Magda Linette, 7 – 5, and suddenly something changed. Magda Linette jumped to a 4 – 1 second set lead and Pavlyuchenkova was winded and out of gas.

Whether it was from the heat this week in the UAE or the aging 33-year-old legs for the veteran, Magda Linette is no spring chicken but looked ready to keep firing balls around!

Noskova is facing her second Polska opponent after manhandling Magdalena Frech in the opening round of the Abu Dhabi Open. The 20-year-old Czech Republic native only dropped 3 games against Linette and then wiped out Paula Badosa in the second round at 4 and 1 in straight sets.

The youthful legs will help support Noskova against a veteran, but I was impressed with Linette before Pavlyuchenkova retired. Pavlyuchenkova might have already been breaking down as the second frame progressed but Linette was busy fighting her way back into the match.

I wasn’t happy to see the comeback because I had offered Pavlyuchenkova at +125 to win the match in straight sets. Fortunately, we got our money back with the voided action but Linette is a bigger underdog than she was yesterday.

At -420, Noskova is expected to walk all over Linette and that has yet to happen from the two meetings between them.

I’ll take Linette to cover the +4.5 games with an even-money offer to keep this match worth watching.

MAGDA LINETTE RECENT FORM

Magda Linette was facing a fourth loss from six outings in 2025 but Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova ran out of gas pushing the Polska native into the quarterfinals.

Linette ranks one spot ahead of Noskova (38th, 39th Resp) and despite the two wins against Noskova is a heavy underdog today.

Linette was 11 – 16 on hard courts last season and is 3 – 3 through the first six outings of 2025.

LINDA NOSKOVA RECENT FORM

Linda Noskova won one match in Brisbane and lost her next three outings before entering the Abu Dhabi Open.

Noskova was 19 – 8 on hard courts last season with one title win at Monterrey. The 39th-ranked Czech Republic native has produced a 102 – 42 record since 2021.

LINETTE VS NOSKOVA HTH –  STAT OF THE MATCH

Magda Linette is 2 – 0 against Linda Noskova although both clashes have come on the dirt.

In 2023, Linette defeated Noskova in straight sets in Rome.

Last year, the Polska native was victorious in three sets in the semifinal of the Prague Open.

The winner of this match will face Leylah Fernandez or Ashlyn Krueger in the semifinals of the Abu Dhabi Open.
