Maddison Inglis will battle it out with Aoi Ito for the right to compete in the main draw of the BNP Paribas Open on Tuesday afternoon, and the line setters show no favoritism toward either player.

With a -110 line on either player to advance to the main draw out of the Tenth Qualifier bracket, a wide open affair is expected.

EJ Garr’s prediction for Maddison Inglis vs. Aoi Ito will feature odds at +130, which you can take advantage of below.

Maddison Inglis vs Aoi Ito WTA Indian Wells Prediction: We’re Going The Distance

  • Prediction: Match Total Over 2.5 Sets
  • Best Odds: +130
  • Bookmaker: Unibet
  • Stakes: 3/10

Odds as of 7:00 am UK Time on March 4, 2025. Odds may now differ.

First of all, we’re going the distance.

Secondly, Maddison Inglis will take this victory in three sets to avenge the loss when the two paired up last year in South Korea.

Now you have your winner at -110, and you can take advantage of the +333 odds on the 2 – 1 Correct Score at William Hill.

I know I am full of gifts today, which is ironic because I am the one having a birthday on Tuesday!

While I get older, Aoi Ito is only 20 years old and is going up against veteran Maddison Inglis who turned 27 in January.

Age is just a number and so are the rankings. They both appear outside the top 100 on the WTA Tour but a main draw entry is on the line. Inglis started the week ranked 136th and Ito at 112th, but we will see the Australian earning her way into the main draw and it isn’t even an upset.

Maddison Inglis is in the prime of her career at 27 years old, and this had better be big season for the Aussie native who did pretty damn good numbers in 2024. Inglis put up some nice numbers last season with three ITF titles earned, but this is no ITF event and the road ahead will be filled with higher profile players.

This is a WTA1000 event, and Inglis will face much tougher competition when she reaches the main draw at Indian Wells.

I expect the Perth native to get into the field, and it’s not like a big, bold call when the line is even between them.

MADDISON INGLIS RECENT FORM

Maddison Inglis is 12 – 5 to begin the 2025 campaign, and wiped out Anna Bondar as a +110 underdog in the first round of qualifying.

Inglis played eight matches at WTA75 Brisbane 2 with the Lucky Loser slot, and went 6 – 2 while reaching the finals. A three-set loss to fellow Aussie Kim Birrell was a tough defeat for the Perth native, who followed up that effort with a 1 – 1 record in Austin last week.

Inglis had her best season as a pro last year with a 46 – 23 record, and she earned her first title on the grass in 2024.

AOI ITO RECENT FORM

Aoi Ito struggled with Daria Snigur in the first round of qualifying and needed three sets to advance to the final match in the Tenth Qualifier bracket. Snigur won the first set, and the Japanese native needed to rebound and sweep the final two frames, which she did convincingly.

Ito opened the 2025 campaign with a run to the title at Canberra, and then flopped in the next three events. Eliminated in the first round at the Australian Open, Singapore, and Abu Dhabi, Ito won two matches in Doha and Dubai but has yet to piece another 3-game win streak together since Canberra.

Ito is 10 – 5 in 2025 and is following up her career best 62 – 24 record in 2024 that included three titles.

INGLIS VS ITO HTH –  STAT OF THE MATCH

Maddison Inglis and Aoi Ito met for the first time last season in South Korea (Goyang WTA50), and the Japanese native earned the victory in three sets.
