Leyre Romero Gormaz vs Tamara Korpatsch WTA100 Zaragoza ITF Prediction: Spaniard Favored To Advance
- Prediction: Leyre Romero Gormaz -3 Games
- Best Odds: -111
- Bookmaker: Pinnacle
- Stakes: 3/10
Odds as of 7:00 am UK Time on April 10, 2025. Odds may now differ.
Leyre Romero Gormaz opened at -165 when I saw the early lines pop up for this match, but now the line setters have inflated that number to -190.
I understand why that is the case, and it leads me to a convincing victory for the Spaniard on home soil for this WTA100 event from Zaragoza.
Romero Gormaz has odds of +128 to sweep Korpatsch out of Spain, although the German native did win their only meeting on clay during the 2022 campaign, in Madrid!
So, with revenge on her mind, Gormaz is playing her best tennis lately, and if not for Solana Sierra, the Spaniard would be 6 – 0 with a tournament title in her hands. Sierra took down Gormaz in the final match of the Antalya 3 ITF event, but a runners-up spot should inspire the 23-year-old to continue trending in a winning direction.
All six of Gormaz’s titles have come on clay, and we know she can navigate her way to wins at this level of the ITF tour.
Tamara Korpach has seen her ranking drop 20 points since last season, and the 6 – 6 record on hardcourts wasn’t the best start to the campaign. A first-round win to start the clay season didn’t come easy on Monday against Else Jacquemot, but it was a strange scoreline.
Korpastch won the opening set 6 – 0, lost the second frame in a tie-break, and won the final set 6 – 0. We don’t see that every day, but it was enough to send the German to the second round.
Give me Romero Gormaz to advance and cover the -3 games en route to a quarterfinal appearance in her native Spain.

ROMERO GORMAZ VS KORPATSCH HTH – STAT OF THE MATCH
Tamara Korpatsch defeated Leyre Romero Gormaz in their only meeting during the 2022 season. At a WTA80 ITF event in Madrid, Korpastch won their round of 16 clash in three sets.
