Depending on your bookmaker, the lines vary from site to site on the expected winner of this second-round clash between Pigossi and Ortenzi. It will be Brazil vs. Argentina but it won’t be played on the pitch… sorry, HA!

I admit that Pigossi got me in the first round because I expected more from Nicole Fossa Huergo who flopped like a fish on Tuesday. 

Pinnacle is posting -111 on the odds for Pigossi and Ortenzi to win this match making this a coin-flip situation. bet365 offers the highest juice on Pigossi at -125 but I am convinced the Brazilian can’t accomplish a quarterfinal appearance at the Argentina Open.

The last time I had my hard-earned money on the expectation of Pigossi to win a match is too long ago for me to remember. I will fade the Brazilian more often than not and here is another case of it happening again.

The other key factor is the heads-up meetings between Pigossi over the last month. Ortenzi has dismantled Pigossi twice in November and one of those wins was for her country at the Billie Jean King event less than two weeks ago.

Pigossi hasn’t won a set against Ortenzi but is favored today? I don’t think so! That’s all the convincing I need to get this bet on the board between fading Pigossi and expecting another big effort from Ortenzi to win this second-round clash at the Argentina Open on Thursday.
