Aliaksandra Sasnovich had to go through qualifying in a Major Tournament for the first time in her career this week in New York and so far it’s produced her first win streak on hardcourts all season. 

Sasnovich has had a rough go on hardcourts this campaign only winning 8 of 18 matches on the surface and the line setters don’t like her chances to reach the next phase of the last Major Tournament in 2024.

Aliaksandra has already faced one Brit in qualifying as she got past Heather Watson to pick up the second of the three wins en route to the main draw. The 30-year-old is facing a second straight campaign with a losing record on this surface and the former #30 in the world is currently ranked outside the top 100.

While Sasnovich has won only a single match at the US Open from her last three outings at the Major, Boulter enjoyed mild success here last year with a pair of wins before being ousted in the third round

Boulter has also enjoyed early success in Majors going 5 – 1 in the first round of her last 6 entries and clearly, the line setters like her chances to progress past Sasnovich at -200. That is a stiff price but Sasnovich will not be able to upset Boulter and I don’t think it will even be close!

The 2 – 0 Sweep is in order and at +130 the line is fairly valued on Boulter to progress!

Katie Boulter picked up a big win in San Diego earlier this campaign and pocketed nearly a million bucks for the effort. Boulter is 15 – 7 on this surface this year and she’ll likely finish a fifth straight campaign with a winning record on hard courts.

I will say that if this match were on clay I might not be so quick to jump on Boulter but if we’re on grass or a hard court she’s worth the investment.

ALIAKSANDRA SASNOVICH RECENT FORM

Without a win in the main draw of either of the four Majors this season, Sasnovich is facing an uphill battle she can’t win today.

Now ranked 107th on the WTA Tour, Aliaksandra is 24 – 27 on hard courts over the last two campaigns. The loss to Gracheva in Cincinnati also left a bad taste in everyone’s mouth and the confidence level is simply not there right now.
