Jessica Pegula and Barbora Krejcikova appear at the bottom of the Orange Group after opening losses at the WTA Finals.

Coco Gauff handed Pegula a straight-sets loss to open the event and the American finds herself at the bottom of the group.

Krejcilova pushed Iga Swiatek to three sets but the Czech Republic native fell to the former World’s #1 despite a lengthy layoff from action.

EJ Garr’s Jessica Pegula vs. Barbora Krejcikova prediction features odds at -115 which you can find below.

Jessica Pegula vs Barbora Krejcikova Prediction: Bottom Pair in Orange Group Battle in Riyadh

  • Prediction: Barbora Krejcikova +3.5 Games Handicap
  • Best Odds: -115
  • Bookmaker: Pinnacle
  • Stakes: 3/10

Odds updated at 7:00 am UK Time on November 5, 2024.

Jessica Pegula and Barbora Krejcikova were struggling at the end of the campaign and limped into the WTA Finals.

Pegula only competed in two events during the Asian swing before the WTA Finals in Riyadh and was manhandled by Coco Gauff to open the event.

Gauff handed Pegula a 12 – 5 defeat in an event where games weigh heavily into tie-breaking scenarios. An 0 – 2 set count has Pegula scrambling to stay in the competition and another loss for either woman would be devastating today.

The pressure is on to get a big result and Pegula is favored at odds north of -200 to be the one that gets it.

I am not convinced that Pegula has the game or the mindset to ease past anyone and the loss to Coco at 2 and 3 will be tough to recover.

Krejcikova had Iga Swiatek on the ropes after a 6 – 4 first-set win but the Czech native couldn’t hold on to the lead and fell in three sets to the former World’s #1

While Pegula struggled to complete the Asian swing, Krejcikova didn’t exactly do much to build confidence leading to the WTA Finals. Krejcikova went 2 – 5 after the Olympic Games and only played two matches at the US Open as part of the North American swing.

I am putting the Krejcilova +3.5 handicap on the board to continue my hot run at the WTA Finals (3 – 0 after Monday’s results).

JESSICA PEGULA RECENT FORM

Jess Pegula was a finalist at this event last season but fell to Iga Swiatek settling for second best.

This is Pegula’s third consecutive appearance at the year-end championships but the first trip in 2022 didn’t go so well finishing last in the group.

Pegula is 27 – 10 on hard courts this year and is one win away from #40 with a 39 – 15 record in 2024.

BARBORA KREJCIKOVA RECENT FORM

Krejcikova was 1 – 4 before entering Saudi Arabia and is reeling after the loss to Swiatek despite winning a set in the match. While the Czech native won 13 games against Swiatek, she is in third place in the Orange Group with one set win in her pocket.

Krejcikova is ranked 13th on the WTA tour and gained entry to the year-end event after winning Wimbledon and placing in the top 20 of the WTA Rankings.

With a 7 – 8 record on hard courts this year, Krejcikova is 19 – 15 in 2024 after missing two months early this season.

PEGULA VS KREJCIKOVA H2H –  STAT OF THE MATCH

Jessica Pegula and Barbora Krejcikova met twice on the WTA Tour last season and split the series with a win apiece.

Pegula won the first meeting at the 2023 Australian Open in straight sets and Krejcikova leveled the series with a 3-set win in Dubai.
