Jessica Bouzas Maneiro vs Varvara Gracheva WTA Open de Rouen Prediction: Spaniard Hunting For Quarterfinals

  • Prediction: Jessica Bouzas Maneiro To Win
  • Best Odds: -108
  • Bookmaker: Pinnacle
  • Stakes: 3/10

Odds as of 7:00 am UK Time on April 17, 2025. Odds may now differ.

The line setters won’t tip their hand, listing Jessica Bouzas Maneiro and Varvara Gracheva with -108 odds to advance to the quarterfinals of Le Open de Rouen.

I’d like to start by thanking Bouzas Maneiro for removing Maria Sakkari from the event with the first-round win, because we called for the upset of the Greek at +177! The Sakkari fade is in full effect, but it wasn’t as easy as I thought it would be.

The 6 – 0 sweep of Sakkari in the first set was a bit of a shock, but Sakkari did fight back to force the extra frame before Bouzas Maneiro sent the Greek packing. Do we think Sakkari will be hovering around the 100-mark in the WTA rankings soon? I won’t be shocked about that!

Gracheva made quick work of Sonay Kartal in the first round, sweeping the Brit out of France in the first round. The French native went 1 – 2 last week at the Billie Jean King Cup, with the lone win against 510th-ranked Lisa Zaar.

I was more impressed by Bouzas Maneiro at the Billie Jean King Cup last week, finding wins against Linda Noskova and Beatriz Haddad Maia. The Spaniard has carried that momentum into France, and I expect Bouzas Maneiro to carry that into a quarterfinals appearance.

Essentially, if the line setters want us to flip a coin and call the winner to cash the ticket, I will take the Spaniard to upset the French native at -108.

JESSICA BOUZAS MANEIRO RECENT FORM

Jessica Bouzas Maneiro carries a 3-match win streak into this second-round match with Varvara Gracheva, and the Spaniard is 5 – 1 over her last six outings.

Bouzas Maneiro started the week ranked 73rd on the WTA Tour, just six spots behind her opponent today.

The 22-year-old has won eight tournament titles on clay in her career, the most recent coming last year at the Antalya Challenger.

VARVARA GRACHEVA RECENT FORM

Varvara Gracheva began the week ranked 67th on the WTA Tour, and the French native does have two clay titles to her credit. It’s been since 2019 that we have seen Gracheva holding any type of hardware.

Gracheva is 7 – 10 this season, but went 15 – 9 on clay in 2024.

MANEIRO VS GRACHEVA HTH –  STAT OF THE MATCH

Jessica Bouzas Maneiro defeated Varvara Gracheva in Cleveland last season, and this will be the second meeting between them today in France.

The winner of this match will face Elina Svitolina or Anhelina Kalanina in the quarterfinals of the Le Open de Rouen.
