Elena Rybakina is a win away from her first semifinal appearance at Roland Garros, and Jasmine Paolini stands in her way as the underdog in Paris on Wednesday. Ej’s Paolini vs Rybakina prediction features odds at -120 and can be found below.

Rybakina reached the semis in Madrid after taking the Stuttgart title to start the clay swing of the WTA Tour The Worlds #4 is a significant favorite to get past her Italian opponent who entered Paris ranked 15th in the world.

Jasmine Paolini doesn’t have the best track record in Major Tournaments, but a trip to the semifinal would give her the best finish of her career.

PAOLINI VS RYBAKINA PREDICTION: RYBAKINA SOLID ON THE DIRT IN 2024

  • Prediction: Elena Rybakina 2 – 0 Exact Score
  • Best Odds: -120
  • Bookmaker: Bet365
  • Stakes: 3/10

Odds as of 7:00 am UK Time June 5, 2024. Odds may now differ.

Elena Rybakina has tasted defeat only once on clay this season, and her 12 – 1 record on the dirt after a 22 – 4 hard-court run has the World’s #4 eyeing her first semifinal appearance at Roland Garros.

The Moscow native who calls Kazakhstan home has a chance to break her 47-win record a season ago, and she already has banked three trophies in 2024. One of those titles began her clay season in Stuttgart, and her only loss on the dirt was against Aryna Sabalenka in the Madrid semifinal.

Rybakina was 9 – 2 on clay last season which included a title run in Rome, so there is no question that she can handle herself on clay.

Jasmine Paolini knows she is a big underdog, and the Italian is playing in her first quarterfinal in Paris having only gotten out of the second round this year. Paolini has an 8 – 3 record on clay in 2024, and her current 4-match win streak is her best run since Dubai / Indian Wells.

Paolini was set to clash with Rybakina in Dubai, but the Italian won in a walkover so the match was not played. Paolini has never officially beaten Rybakina despite the two official wins over Elena. Elena couldn’t finish their match in Cincinnati last August giving Paolini that win.

I blew both my quarterfinal calls yesterday giving Vondrousova too much credit and not giving Jabeur enough credit. Now I need to rebound with a couple of wins today and I will start with the Correct Sets 2 – 0 call on Rybakina. I am not the biggest fan of the -120 line on the action, but I don’t think Paolini can take a set from Rybakina. My Paolini vs Rybakina prediction is for Rybakina to win by 2:0.

JASMINE PAOLINI RECENT FORM

Jasmine Paolini ran off an 8-match win streak between her title run in Dubai and her wins at Indian Wells. For the first time in her career, she is 4 – 0 at a Major Tournament after reaching the fourth round in Australia in the first Major of 2024.

Paolini hadn’t seen a third-round match at a Major until the dash in Australia to the quarters, and she faces an uphill battle on Wednesday in Paris as a +300 Underdog.

ELENA RYBAKINA RECENT FORM

Rybakina has put together a nearly perfect clay campaign with a 12 – 1 record, and now she is expected to land in the semifinals in Paris.

Elena is 34 – 5 this season with losses to Sabalenka, Swiatek, and Collins accounting for three of those defeats.

Rybakina is on pace to break her personal best 47 wins in 2023, and as long as she stays healthy we will assume she can get to 50 victories in 2024.

PAOLINI VS RYBAKINA H2H –  STAT OF THE MATCH:

Rybakina is officially 2 – 0 against Paolini, although they have met four times in their careers. Paolini advanced past Rybakina from a walkover and an early retirement to account for her two wins in the head-to-head stats.
