A spot in the French Open final is at stake, as Iga Swiatek and Coco Gauff compete in one of two semifinal matches being played in Paris on Thursday. Ej’s Swiatek vs Gauff prediction features odds at -111 and can be found below.

Iga Swiatek has been a dominant force at Roland Garros since her second-round scare against Noami Osaka. The Polish #1 in the World carries a 17-match win streak on clay into her match with American Coco Gauff ranked 3rd on the WTA Tour.

Gauff was challenged in her quarterfinal affair with Ons Jabeur, as she dropped the first set to the former #2 in the world before earning a 3-set win to advance to her second semifinal in Paris.

SWIATEK VS GAUFF PREDICTION: A TOP-3 SHOWDOWN IN PARIS

  • Prediction: Match Total Under 19.5 Games
  • Best Odds: -111
  • Bookmaker: Pinnacle
  • Stakes: 3/10

Odds as of 8:00 am UK Time June 6, 2024. Odds may now differ.

Iga Swiatek was on the brink of elimination at Roland Garros against Osaka in the second round at Roland Garros, and it feels like a blur because the Polish #1 has destroyed her last three opponents to land in the semis.

I admit that I thought Vondrousova would show up against Iga putting that +6.5 on the board, and that was not happening. Swiatek extended her win streak to 17 games on clay this season, and she has won her last 19 matches played at Roland Garros.

The two-time defending champ is the favorite to win another Major title, and she is strongly favored against Coco Gauff on Thursday. The line setters aren’t respecting the American’s chances, as some books have a line as high as -800 on the Swiatek Moneyline.

Coco’s serve might be a concern, and it could have cost her that win against Jabeur. Gauff’s first serve percentage was at 55% but luckily she still converted 70% of those into winners.

Ons Jabeur is not Iga Swiatek, and the Polish #1 on the planet will manhandle Coco if her first serve isn’t in check on Thursday.

Iga owns Coco, and I mean to an extent that is just overwhelming. The two have met 11 times, and Iga has walked off the court with 10 wins from those affairs. That is a natural confidence builder for a woman who might only lose one match on clay this season.

My Swiatek vs Gauff prediction is for there to be fewer than 20 games.

IGA SWIATEK RECENT FORM

Iga has won 19 straight games at Roland Garros dating back to her first title run in Paris in 2022. She ran the table last year and is two wins away from recording a 21-game win streak at the Parisian Major for three years.

Swiatek is 17 – 0 since her loss to Rybakina in Stuttgart, and her record is 43 – 4 in 2024.

COCO GAUFF RECENT FORM

Coco has reached the semifinals in Paris for the second time, as she was a runner-up here in 2022. That loss was to Iga in the Final, and Coco was eliminated by Iga last season in the quarterfinals in Paris.

Gauff has reached her third straight Major semifinal after taking the U.S. Open title to finish last season and reaching the stage in Australia.

IGA SWIATEK VS COCO GAUFF H2H –  STAT OF THE MATCH:

A 10 – 1 record is nothing to hide behind, so Coco knows what she is against on Thursday. Swiatek is 2 – 0 against Coco at the French Open over the last two years and is 2 – 0 in Rome on clay.

The 10 wins for Iga over Coco have all been straight-set victories, and their last meeting in Rome was a 3 & 4 win for the Polish #1.
