Emma Raducanu has blasted past three Americans to land in the quarterfinals of the Miami Open, and Jessica Pegula will provide the biggest test for the Brit on Wednesday.

Raducanu has sent McCartney Kessler, Emma Navarro, and Amanda Anisimova packing from the tournament this week. Pegula is a heavy favorite to advance to the semifinals of this WTA1000 event from the Sunshine State at odds of -225.

Can the Brit keep pace with the 4th-ranked player in the world, or will Pegula be too much to handle?

EJ Garr’s prediction for Emma Raducanu vs. Jessica Pegula features odds at -108, which can be found below.

Emma Raducanu vs Jessica Pegula WTA Miami Open Prediction: Brit Facing Fourth American

  • Prediction: Jessica Pegula -3.5 Games
  • Best Odds: -108
  • Bookmaker: Pinnacle
  • Stakes: 3/10

Odds as of 7:00 am UK Time on March 26, 2025. Odds may now differ.

I don’t think anyone is surprised to see Jessica Pegula favored to get past Emma Raducanu, but the Brit has plowed through three Americans to earn her way into the quarterfinals of the Miami Open.

The first win over Emma Navarro in the second round was the first upset after Raducanu plowed past Sayaka Ishii in the opening round as a -400 favorite. Raducanu was a +175 underdog against Navarro, and what a match that was! A three-set thriller that came down to a third-set tie-break pushed Raducanu through to the third round.

The line was even between Raducanu and McCartney Kessler, but unfortunately, the American had to retire from the match. Raducanu was destroying Kessler before she left the court up 6 – 1, and 3 – 0 in the second set before the American removed herself from the tournament.

Raducanu was the underdog again against Amanda Anisimova, and the Brit pounded the American out of Miami, 6 – 1, 6 – 3.

Pegula is 3 – 0 this week in Miami, but the third-round match against Anna Kalinskaya was a close call for the 4th-ranked American. Kalinskaya pushed Pegula to a third-set tie-break, but the American eased through the extra frame after going down 2 – 1 to win the tie-break, 7 – 2.

This line of -3.5 with a fair price of -108 has my attention because I expect Jessica Pegula to be on her game today. I don’t know if the Americans will sweep the British native out of Miami, and that line of +110 on the 2 – 0 CS doesn’t point to the sweep either.

Even if they go the distance, Pegula will cover the game count and advance to the semifinals, so the play is -3.5 with the American to advance.

EMMA RADUCANU RECENT FORM

Emma Raducanu slipped to 60th in the WTA rankings this week, but the 4 – 0 in Miami should get her closer to the top 50.

Raducanu has a 7 – 6 record in 2025, and the Brit has struggled to stay on the court the last few years. Emma only competed in 10 matches during the 2023 campaign, and went 23 – 13 in 36 matches last year.

JESSICA PEGULA RECENT FORM

Jessica Pegula is 18 – 5 in 2025, and the American hasn’t produced a losing record on any surface for the last four years.

Pegula went 4 – 0 in Austin to claim the hardware and went 7 – 0 before the loss to Elina Svitolina at Indian Wells.

The 4th-ranked American is 10 – 1 over the last 11 outings.

RADUCANU VS PEGULA HTH –  STAT OF THE MATCH

The series is tied at one win apiece.

Jessica Pegula defeated Emma Raducanu at Cincinnati in 2022 with a straight-sets win.

Raducanu leveled the series with a three-set victory on the grass of Eastbourne last year.
