One of the best on-court interviews of the entire US Open Major Tournament happened on Tuesday and all of us New Yorkers are about to enjoy a beverage on Aryna!

After Sabalenka destroyed Qinwen Zheng off the court in the quarterfinals, Sabalenka told the New York crowd, “Drinks are on me if you give me some support in my next match.”

I just bought my ticket! HA! 

I don’t know if Aryna Sabalenka embarrassed Qinwen Zheng or showed her up in any way, but I didn’t see that handshake moment coming at the net. Zheng barely looked at Aryna and it looked as if it hurt her hand to put it out toward Sabalenka and I wasn’t impressed with the Chinese native!

Sabalenka kicked your ass and you didn’t like it? Aww go pout at home because that wasn’t the stage to do that exchange and even Aryna was taken aback by it.

Sabalenka has won 33 of 36 sets played in Major Tournaments and she picked up her 75th win in such events on Tuesday. 

Emma Navarro is only the third NCAA tennis player to reach the semifinals of the US Open in the last 40 years, and someone is oozing with confidence right now! Emma has convinced herself that she can compete with anyone and this will be a massive test at the US Open against the World’s #2 ranked player on tour.

Navarro keeps it close and covers the +4.5 games handicap or will Emma pull the upset?

Emma Navarro showed some of her personality on the court after her win over Badosa. With a fist in the air stating, “Crazy, moving to the semifinal of the US Open, baby!”

Navarro will be a top-10 ranked player on the WTA Tour next week for the first time in her career no matter the result of today’s match. Oh, the million bucks she just pocketed isn’t going to hurt either but the work isn’t done yet! 

Emma might also find her name on the Newcomer of the Year award.

Sabalenka has everything working and taking out Zheng in that fashion was impressive to watch unfold. That serve is fine and her shoulder feels as good as it can at this point of the campaign.

Before the event started, Chrissie Evert and John McEnroe interviewed her during the practice session and John asked her if she felt strong enough to win the US Open. She didn’t hesitate and put a big yes out there brimming with confidence before putting one ball in play.

Chrissie brought up how Sabalenka loves coming to the States because she seems to be extremely comfortable here, Aryna completely agreed and pointed out that she had won her first WTA event in the US and playing in New York is amazing.

The series is tied at one win apiece.

This past Match at Indian Wells the two met at Indian Wells and Sabalenka was favored at -500 to get past the American. That didn’t happen as Navarro smashed her way to a 3-set win in the found of 8.

Sabalenka exacted some revenge at the French Open and took out Navarro in straight sets.
