Elena Rybakina vs Ons Jabeur WTA Abu Dhabi Open Prediction: Top Seed Favored For Semis

  • Prediction: Match Total Over 21 Games
  • Best Odds: -115
  • Bookmaker: Pinnacle
  • Stakes: 3/10

Odds as of 7:00 am UK Time on February 6, 2025. Odds may now differ.

With 6 of the top 7 seeds eliminated before the quarterfinals of the Abu Dhabi Open, Elena Rybakina is the clear-cut favorite to win this tournament title.

Ons Jabeur is currently listed fourth on the outright odds to win this WTA500 event with +750 odds and the Tunisian native is always up for a good fight. If Rybakina were 150 – 0 and ranked 1st in two solar systems, Ons Jabeur would welcome the challenge and battle for her life.

Katie Volynets handed Ons Jabeur the perfect formula to provide an upset against Rybakina, but the American couldn’t finish what she started. Volynets went toe-to-toe with the defending Abu Dhabi champion taking the first set, 6 – 2 while breaking the Kazakh native on her first three service games.

Rybakina gathered herself, but it still came down to 6 – 4, 6 – 4, in the final two sets, so it was far from a dominant outing for the 1-seed to open the event. With seven double faults to go with seven aces, Rybakina only put 57% of her first serves in play and Ons Jabeur knows her opponent quite well.

Jabeur defeated Rybakina in their last meeting at Wimbledon in 2023 and four of the meetings have needed three sets to decide the victor. Pinnacle is offering +155 odds on the Over 2.5 Sets prop and I’ll bet you were expecting me to say, “We’re going the distance!”

With -115 odds on the Over 21 games, we might just see those three sets anyway.

ELENA RYBAKINA RECENT FORM

Elena Rybakina went 1 – 3 at the WTL but is 7 – 2 to start the 2025 campaign with three wins at the United Cup and a trio at the Australian Open.

Rybakina started the week ranked 5th on the WTA Tour and is following up a third straight campaign with 40+ wins.

ONS JABEUR RECENT FORM

Ons Jabeur is 8 – 3 in 2025 and started the campaign with a run to the Brisbane quarterfinals.

Jabeur has lost to all three of her opponents ranked above 21st on the WTA Tour and that is the case today with 5th-ranked Rybakina across the court.

It was a disappointing 2024 campaign for the Tunisian native who only competed in 30 matches winning 16 games last season.

RYBAKINA VS JABEUR HTH –  STAT OF THE MATCH

Rybakina and Jabeur have met five times on the WTA Tour and the last two have happened at Wimbledon. The Kazakh native defeated Jabeur in three sets at the 2022 version and the Tunisian native beat Rybakina in three sets last year.

Jabeur is 3 – 2 against Rybakina and 2 – 1 on hard courts against her opponent today.

The winner of this match will face Marketa Vondrousova or Belinda Bencic in the semifinals of the Abu Dhabi Open.
