When the lines first came out for this second-round affair in Mumbai between Reyngold and Adkar, Pinnacle posted a -115 offer on either lady to win this game. That isn’t the case as the day has turned into the night here in New York. Reyngold is now a -160 favorite and expected to be among the eight quarterfinalists in Mumbai this week.
If public money is responsible for moving the line this much then I will fade them out of principle alone. Ekaterina Reyngold is 2 – 11 over the last 13 outings and one of those wins came yesterday against 346th-ranked Tiantsoa Sarah Rakotomanga Rajaonah. Reyngold needed three sets to earn the victory over the 5-seed in this WTA50 event but the win didn’t convince me that she could recreate that type of effort again on Tuesday in India.
Someone was so impressed to put enough money on Reyngold that it moved the line to -160.
I am riding the underdog and taking Adkar to be a quarterfinalist so I am happy to see the line move with some value on the outright win from the India native in Mumbai.
At +120, this match is a coinflip battle that either lady can win so I have no problem taking Adkar to pull the upset in her native India. We know it won’t be anything crowd-related at this event because there is only a covered bullpen for fans along the fences courtside.
Mumbai expects Tuesday and Wednesday to feature the highest temperatures of the week (91F) so it will be hot today and tomorrow for the players.
