I admit that Ekaterina Reyngold cost me a play in the second round because I didn’t see her getting past Vaishnavi Adkar. Reyngold convincingly dismissed Adkar from this WTA50 event in Mumbai with a 6 -4, 6 – 2 victory.

If you recall, Reyngold was a -160 favorite against an evenly matched opponent only 3 rankings ahead of her, but Adkar flopped so here we are.

Do I dare fade Reyngold again? Yamalapalli is ranked 311th compared to the 710 number next to Reyngold’s name but that’s just paperwork.

The correct set prop for a Yamalapalli win is elevated at -150 which is well out of my comfort zone. The total for this match is listed at 19.5 games, and at -115 toward the Under, that is worth the action because the sweep is coming.

Yamalappli has grown in confidence over the last few outings sporting a 7 – 2 record and a semifinal appearance at Solapur last week. 

Yamalapalli hasn’t lost more than 2 games in the four sets played in Mumbai this week and I expect a similar scoreline for this quarterfinal affair against Reyngold.

I will call for a 6 – 2, 6 – 3 win for the India native, which covers the under and Yamalapalli’s -5 games handicap. If Reyngold gets me again, I will have to take her in the semis no matter the opponent!

After a three-set upset over five-seed Tiantsoa Sarah Rakotomanga Rajaonah in the first round, Reyngold made quick work of Adkar, as mentioned previously.
