Ekaterina Alexandrova and Amanda Anisimova are set up for a semifinal clash at the Qatar Open, and a spot in the finals is in the balance.
Alexandrova helped our WTA expert go 2 – 0 with +150 and +140 offers on the table in her match against Jessica Pegula, but this time she is the favorite against Anisimova.
Anisimova needed three sets to defeat Marta Kostyuk in the quarterfinals, and the American is regaining confidence with a potential tourney win in sight.
EJ Garr’s prediction for Ekaterina Alexandrova vs. Amanda Anisimova has -111 odds and can be found below.

Ekaterina Alexandrova vs Amanda Anisimova WTA Qatar Open Prediction: Doha Finals In the Balance
- Prediction: Ekaterina Alexandrova -1 Game
- Best Odds: -111
- Bookmaker: Pinnacle
- Stakes: 3/10
Odds as of 7:00 am UK Time on February 14, 2025. Odds may now differ.
Let me start with a thank you to Ekaterina Alexandrova for the marvelous effort as a +150 underdog against Jessica Pegula yesterday. The +140 odds on the Over 2.5 sets made it a great deal, and that’s how we like it!
I haven’t covered any Amanda Anisimova outings at this WTA1000 event in Doha, and a final-four showing with wins over Paula Badosa and Marta Kostyuk has propelled the American into the semifinals.
I didn’t see her first-round win against Azarenka, but I have watched the last three outings with Anisimova, and the effort against Kostyuk yesterday said a lot. After dropping the first set in her first quarterfinal appearance at Doha.
Anisimova fought back to earn her semifinal spot. After a wild 7 – 5 second-set win, the American held her final service game of the match and shut the door on the Ukrainian native, 6 – 4, to advance to this stage.
Anisimova hadn’t lost a set in Doha until the quarterfinal with Kostyuk and has defeated three players ranked inside 27th on the WTA tour this week (Badosa (10), Fernandez (27), Kostyuk (21),
Alexandrova brings an 8-game win streak into the semifinals of the Qatar Open and has a Linz title on the shelf as part of the current run.
Instead of paying the -128 juice on the Moneyline offer from Pinnacle, the -1 is listed at -111, and that line floats my boat! We don’t work and make juice for Tropicana; we work to make money, and -111 odds save us a little something for our ROI!
EKATERINA ALEXANDROVA RECENT FORM
If recent form is worth anything, it is hard to argue with an 8-match wins streak and the potential for back-to-back titles. After the 4 – 0 at Linz to lift the hardware, Alexandrova has removed Aryna Sabalenka and Jessica Pegula from this WTA1000 event and is on the brink of another finals appearance.
Alexandrova is ranked 26th on the WTA Tour, and that number will improve when the new rankings are announced.
Improving to 9 – 3 this season with the quarterfinal win over Pegula, Alexandrova is following up a mediocre 26 – 25 2024 campaign.
AMANDA ANISIMOVA RECENT FORM
Amanda Anisimova is ranked 41st on the WTA Tour and is 7 – 2 to begin the 2025 campaign.
Anisimova was 17 – 7 on hard courts last season and ended the year with a 21 – 13 record in limited time on the tour.
ALEXANDROVA VS ANISIMOVA HTH – STAT OF THE MATCH
Alexandrova and Anisimova have met twice since 2020 on the WTA Tour.
In 2020 in Dubai, Anisimova defeated Alexandrova early in the event with a sweep.
Their most recent meeting was on the clay of Madrid in 2022, and Alexandrova leveled the series with a straight-sets win.
The winner of this match will face Iga Swiatek or Jelena Ostapenko in the Qatar Open finals.
