I tend to think I can sniff out a 3-set match and when Diana Shnaider takes on Suzan Lamens on Friday in Hong Kong, the odds of a lengthy affair are not promising.

If you follow me regularly you know I have been enjoying Suzan Lamens’ recent success. It all comes crashing down today and points me to the total expecting an easy win for Shnaider.

Shnaider is ranked 14th on the WTA Tour and Lamens started the week at 91st so that will weigh on the line setters’ decision to make Shnaider heavy chalk. I don’t know about that -400 stuff because that line is insulting, but Lamens will struggle to win more than 8 games in this contest.

All I see is a 6 – 4, 6 – 3 finish and Shnaider advancing to the semifinal so the under 20.5 goes in as the play at this WTA250 event in Hong Kong.

The recent run of success for Lamens at 9 – 1 in the last 10 outings looks great on paper but the quality of opponents the Dutch native has landed has helped out nicely. 

Lamens’ only loss during the run was to a top-50 opponent (Marie Bouzkova) and the only win during the stretch against a top-50 foe was the win over Victoriya Tomova.

Shnaider will outclass the Dutch native and advance to the semis with a straight-sets win so play the under 20.5 games and cash the ticket! The total holds the best value at -110.
