Flip a coin and come up with your winner! I call Tails and my coin landed on Dolehide to escape this first-round clash with Daria Snigur.

With -110 odds on either player to pick up this win, I was pleasantly surprised to pay small juice for Dolehide in this spot because she is the better player. 

Snigur opened 2025 with an ugly loss to Dalmo Galfi at Canberra. The three wins at the Australian Open didn’t impress me getting past Arango, Pelicova, and Masarova at the first Major of the season. Those are all wins against players ranked outside the top 150 WTA Rankings. Snigur herself is ranked 136th and the effort against Dani Collins, despite the loss, was probably the best showing at the Aussie Open.

Caroline Dolehide’s campaign hasn’t gotten off to a good start losing two of three matches out of the gate. Losses to Svitolina at the Australian Open and top-seeded Anna Kalinskaya at Singapore leave no shame in the American’s game.

The quality losses for Dolehide instill more confidence toward a play on the American to advance in this WTA250 event. The line setters aren’t expecting a convincing victory posting +200 odds on Dolehide to sweep Snigur but there is a strange line to notice. If the match goes three sets, Snigur is listed at +350 and Dolehide has odds at +375.

I’ll expect a Dolehide win no matter how it comes and -110 is the best line we can find at Pinnacle.

DARIA SNIGUR RECENT FORM

Daria Snigur has a 5 – 2 record in 2025 following up 42 – 22 effort in 2024. Playing mostly at the ITF level, Snigur won two tournament titles last season and has produced four straight seasons with a winning record.

The win over Anca Todoni (107th) in the final qualifying match was the highest-ranked win from all five victories this year. All four of her other wins are against players ranked outside the top 150.  

CAROLINE DOLEHIDE RECENT FORM

Caroline Dolehide is ranked 81st on the WTA Tour and a 1 – 2 start to the campaign doesn’t look good after a 20 – 27 2024 season. The 26-year-old American reached a career-high rank of 41st in 2023 but produced a losing record on all three surfaces last season.

Dolehide has five career ITF titles and four of those tournament wins have come on clay.
