Daria Kasatkina vs Emma Raducanu Prediction: Brit Eyeing Seoul Semifinal
- Prediction: Emma Raducanu -1 Game Handicap
- Best Odds: -108
- Bookmaker: Pinnacle
- Stakes: 3/10
Odds updated at 7:00 am UK Time on September 20, 2024.
Emma Raducanu is 17 – 7 over the last 24 outings and we are starting to see shades of the past success in her game again. A former US Open champ, Emma is favored to advance past the top-ranked player in this event and that is a statement from the bookmakers.
At -120, Raducanu isn’t barely the chalk and Kasatkina already knows she can take out the Brit because she’s done it twice in two meetings. I think things will be different this time around after watching that Raducanu serve yesterday. When you slap 11 Aces on the table I don’t care who is set up across the court and Yuan had no clue what to do with Emma’s serve in the second round.
If Raducanu can keep that positive attitude we all know she can play with the best in the world and I am hoping the Brit can carry the momentum into the semifinal. Instead of the -120 to win outright, I am moving over to the handicap because the -1 is -108 and will save us a few bucks of juice.
And now we have another example of why rankings mean squads! Yes, it’s a word HA! Emma is ranked 70 and Kasatkina sits in the 13th spot of the WTA Rankings. Who is favored again?
Raducanu has already sniped a pair of top-50 wins in Seoul and win #3 is coming on Friday so grab the -1 handicap and save some juice.
DARIA KASATKINA RECENT FORM
Daria Kasatkina has a 15 – 12 hardcourt record and is positioned to have a winning record on all three surfaces this campaign. The tourney win at Eastbourne earned Daria the first title since 2022 and her first trophy won on grass in her career.
Kasatkina wasn’t challenged in the least against Hailey Baptiste in the second round and as the top-seed has only had to play one match in Seoul to land in this quarterfinal.
At 31 – 18, Kasatkina will likely have a winning record for a fifth straight season as she tries to break back into the top 10 in the WTA Rankings (8th in 2022).
EMMA RADUCANU RECENT FORM
Emma Raducan is ranked 70th on the WTA Tour and the former World’s #19 is getting closer to where she was before missing almost all of the 2023 season.
Raducanu is 9 – 7 on hardcourts with a 20 – 12 record this campaign and a 2 – 2 record on clay is the only thing keeping her from owning a winning record on all three surfaces.
Emma was pushed to a pair of tie-breaking sets in the first round against Peyton Stearns and she’s been on the court in Seoul for nearly 5 hours from two affairs in this WTA500 event.
KASATKINA VS RADUCANU H2H – STAT OF THE MATCH
Daria Kasatkina is 2 – 0 against Raducanu and Emma was one of Kasatkina’s victims during the run to the Eastbourne title this past June.
Kasatkina took down Raducanu at Ostrava in 2022 and both wins over the Brit have been straight-set victories.
