COLLINS VS SABALENKA PREDICTION: BUCKLE UP FOR A BATTLE
- Prediction: Match Total Over 2.5 Sets
- Best Odds: 2.43
- Bookmaker: Unibet
- Stakes: 3/10
Odds as of 8:00 am UK Time May 16, 2024. Odds may now differ.
First of all, Sabalenka’s serve was my biggest concern in her quarterfinal match, although it didn’t cost her a trip to the semifinals. Aryna took an injury timeout to navigate her nagging back pain and is a big concern on short rest.
Secondly, Dani Collins is on her final run on tour, and before retirement gets here she would love to put an Italian Open title on her resume. Collins has a clay title this season from her win at Charleston in early April, and her 12 – 1 record on dirt this season is impressive.
I hope you enjoyed my call on Collins to win her quarterfinal match, as all I did was call the exact score at 4 & 3. I have Collins taking this win and moving on to face Swiatek in the finals and be sure to go check out my preview for the other semifinal in Rome today.
As long as Sabalenka’s back does hold up, she should be able to take a set over Collins even though no one else has in Rome. Collins has been perfect and hasn’t dropped a set, but this will be her biggest test in this event.
The World’s #2 may have her struggles with serving lately, but Aryna is still one of the best players on the WTA Tour, like her or not.
Collins is ranked 15th and will be moving up after this run to the semifinals in Rome. It will rise higher after she gets to the final, so here is your bonus bet!
Collins to upset Sabalenka with the outright win to advance to the final, and it will either be 3 sets to the finish or a Sabalenka dropout that gets her there. We don’t want to see Aryna quit, but that could happen in this semifinal clash in Rome.
Collins is listed at +145 to win the match, and the Over 2.5 Sets have odds of +143, so make it a double on the rocks and splash the pot with both bets!
DANIELLE COLLINS RECENT FORM
12 – 1 on clay is quite a recent form! Collins wants to make her last shot in Rome one that she remembers for years to come, although Swiatek will be waiting for her in the final match of the tourney.
No one is beating Iga, but a run to the finals with a 12 – 2 record on clay headed toward the French Open is surely a huge positive.
ARYNA SABALENKA RECENT FORM
Sabalenka can always have a wild affair with her serve, and she needed a timeout in the QF because of her ailing back. With less than 24 hours to prepare after her win over Ostapenko, we’ll see what shape she is in to take on a hot Danielle Collins.
COLLINS VS SABALENKA H2H – STAT OF THE MATCH
Collins is 12 – 1 on clay this season, but that one loss is to Sabalenka in Madrid.
Sabalenka is a perfect 5 – 0 against Collins in their careers, and three of the five battles have needed three sets to decide a winner.
