Coco Gauff is favored to get past Ons Jabeur in their quarterfinal matchup on Tuesday in Paris, as the American eyes her first semi-showing at Roland Garros. Coco has been on point and in fantastic form entering this quarterfinal battle with Tunisian star Ons Jabeur, and this is a rematch from their 2021 clash in Paris. Ej’s Coco Gauff vs Ons Jabeur prediction featuring odds at -105 and can be found below.

Jabeur will be out for revenge taking her #9 ranking to the table and putting her chips at center-court with the third-ranked woman in the world across the net today.

COCO GAUFF VS ONS JABEUR PREDICTION: FAVORED AMERICAN EYEING FIRST SEMI IN PARIS

  • Prediction: Match Total Under 20.5 Games
  • Best Odds: -105
  • Bookmaker: Pinnacle
  • Stakes: 3/10

Odds as of 7:00 am UK Time June 4, 2024. Odds may now differ.

Coco Gauff has her game exactly where she wants it coming into the quarterfinals in Paris. That confidence will only grow after a convincing win over a top-10-ranked opponent on Tuesday, although Ons Jabeur has pulled many a surprise in her career.

Let’s not forget that Jabeur was ranked #2 in the World two years ago, so it’s not like she has fallen from grace still being in the top 10 of the WTA World Rankings.

Jabeur has put up a 49 – 15 record on the dirt since the 2021 campaign, although her 2024 season hasn’t seen many highlights. After a 3 – 8 start to the season, she finally put together a 3-game run in Madrid and now has her first 4-match win streak of 2024.

While Jabeur hasn’t escaped the quarterfinals in 6 previous showings in the Paris Major, Coco can also make that claim.

Coco Gauff is competing in her fifth French Open at Roland Garros and is seeking her third straight Major semifinal appearance. After winning the U.S. Open to close the 2023 campaign, she reached the semifinals in Australia and is strongly favored with odds over -400 to ease past her Tunisian opponent.

While Jabeur is starting to gain a semblance of confidence, I wonder if Coco can handle her rather easily. It has nothing to do with the line setters saying as much, it is just from watching Coco look so sharp with her serve while producing a return game to go with it.

Serving is a given, it’s the ability to break service and change momentum in any match and Coco will break Jabeur at least 5 times today.

We’re taking the Under 20.5 Games, as a 6 – 3, 6 – 2 match will send Coco to the semifinals in Paris.

COCO GAUFF RECENT FORM

Coco Gauff hasn’t dropped a set in Paris, and her return of serve has set the tone for her run to the semifinals at Roland Garros.

Gauff broke Cocciaretto 5 times, she broke Andreeva 5 times, Zidansek was broken 5 times, and guess what? Yastremska was broken 5 times by Coco so I am counting on that trend to continue through the quarterfinals.

ONS JABEUR RECENT FORM

Jabeur was 2 – 5 on the hard courts before hitting the dirt, and after her loss in Stuttgart, her record was 3 – 8 looking for answers.

Ons has an uphill battle and she knows the line setters expect her to be outclassed on the court in Paris today.

Jabeur has four clay titles, two of which tournaments played on her native Tunisian soil in 2013 and 2016. Her best run at Roland Garros came last season when she bashed her way into the quarterfinals but that was the end if her tournament.

GAUFF VS JABEUR HTH –  STAT OF THE MATCH

Coco is 4 – 2 against Jabeur and 1 – 0 at the French Open from their 2021 clash in Paris.

Gauff earned wins in their first two meetings in 2020, one on hard courts and the other in Rome on clay.

They split wins on clay in 2021, and Jabeur won their only battle in 2022 on grass. Last season they met in the Cancun final and Coco walked off with the bigger piece of hardware!
