Wildcard entrant Belinda Bencic will face Coco Gauff on Wednesday at the PNB Paribas Open, and a spot in the quarterfinals is in the balance.

The line setters have this affair evenly matched, although Coco Gauff is slightly favored to advance to the last 8 of this WTA1000 event at Indian Wells.

With a mere -125 posted for the American to advance, Gauff and Bencic are meeting for the second time this season after a thrilling show at the Australian Open.

EJ Garr’s prediction for Coco Gauff vs. Belinda Bencic features odds at +129, and you can find the tip below.

Coco Gauff vs Belinda Bencic WTA BNP Paribas Open Prediction: Set Up For Another Thriller

  • Prediction: Match Total Over 2.5 Sets
  • Best Odds: +129
  • Bookmaker: Pinnacle
  • Stakes: 3/10

Odds as of 7:00 am UK Time on March 12, 2025. Odds may now differ.

Coco Gauff enters the fourth round of the BNP Paribas Open slightly favored to advance past Belinda Bencic, and we can only hope they repeat their performance from the clash at this year’s Australian Open.

Pinnacle is posting -123 odds for the American to reach the quarterfinals, although Bet365 is up to -137 toward a Coco Gauff victory over Belinda Bencic.

Now that Belinda has her stamina back, that was a concern for the returning mom to the WTA Tour. When she returned late last season, Bencic struggled with lengthy matches and got winded on a few occasions.

That is no longer a concern and her fitness will come in handy since I expect this to be a three-set thriller similar to their match at the Australian Open. That match went three sets before Coco escaped with the victory, but revenge is best served cold!

At +110, it’s not like the oddsmakers are disrespecting the Swiss native from finding a win and taking out the 3rd-ranked Gauff. Bencic still hasn’t cracked the top 50 of the WTA Rankings (58), but we all know that when she is on her game, she is a tough out for anyone.

Taking part in matches like this is why Bencic came back, and BetMGM has Bencic listed at -250 to win any set in this high-profile affair.

Expect this match to go the distance and take advantage of the +129 odds on the Over 2.5 sets prop when they hit the third frame.

COCO GAUFF RECENT FORM

Coco Gauff entered Indian Wells trying to erase a 3-match losing skid that started with the defeat against Paula Badosa after the win against Bencic in the previous round.

Gauff went to Dubai and Doha, and it was like she was never there, losing her opening match in each event.

Coco defeated Moyuka Uchijima in the second round of the BNP Paribas Open, but she was pushed to a third set and needed a 7 – 5 win in the final frame to advance. In the third round, Coco sent Sakkari packing and no one is shocked by that result.

Gauff is 11 – 3 this season and is following up a 54 – 17 2024 campaign.

BELINDA BENCIC RECENT FORM

Belinda Bencic has no less than three wins at all but one event she has entered this season.

After three wins at Adelaide, a loss to Liudmila Samsonova ended her tournament, but Bencic won a trio of affairs at the Australian Open before the loss to Coco in the round of 16.

Bencic won all five outings in Abu Dhabi and lifted her first trophy of the season before getting ousted early in Dubai.

The Swiss native is 16 – 4 this season, and the last three losses have gone the distance.

GAUFF VS BENCIC HTH –  STAT OF THE MATCH

Coco Gauff is 2 – 1 in three meetings with Belinda Bencic.

In the first meeting at Adelaide during the 2021 campaign, Bencic won the first battle in a match that went the distance.

In Washington during the 2023 season, Gauff smacked Bencic around in a convincing straight-sets win.

On January 18th at this year’s Australian Open, Gauff and Bencic met in the round of 16 and the American advanced with a three-set victory.
