For the third consecutive campaign, Coco Gauff has bashed her way into the Final Four of the WTA Finals joining Ayrna Sabalenka and Qinwen Zheng who have already clinched their spots.

Gauff faces one last challenge in the group stage against Barbora Krejcikova who is still alive in the hunt for the final semifinal position left to be filled.

Krejcikova will need some help from Daria Kasatkina to keep Iga Swiatek from clinching the remaining semifinal position. The Czech Republic native still has her work to do against the undefeated American as a heavy underdog.

Coco Gauff broke through Iga Swiatek and mounted a massive effort to upset the former World’s #1 to clinch her spot in a third straight WTA Finals semi.

Gauff was 1 – 11 against Swiatek until the Polska native’s straight-sets thumping on matchday two of Orange Group play. 

How does Gauff approach this outing against Krejcikova with everything clinched and nothing to gain or lose for the final match of the group stage? Only Coco and her camp know that answer but I certainly do not expect a three-set thriller to transpire today.

Krejcikova is the one playing for something but will need big help from Daria Kasatkina who replaces Jessica Pegula. Pegula has stunk up the joint in Saudi Arabia and withdrew from the competition bringing Kasatkina in as an alternate to finish Orange Group play.

While Coco is listed as the heavy chalk at -350 to get past Krejcikova, Swiatek will be a significant favorite to get past Kasatkina and that match will be played first today.

Krejcikova essentially has to sweep Coco off the court and hope that Kasatkina does the same to Swiatek, and those odds would be astronomical. Because Krejcikova lost to Iga in three sets, the heads-up win is why Swiatek is currently holding the second slot in the group entering the final match of group play.

Barbora Krejcikova will know her fate before this match even gets played. Swiatek will likely wipe the floor with Daria Kasatkina in the early game and leave the Czech Republic native in third place of the Orange Group.
