Caroline Garcia is slightly favored to win a tennis match! Stop me if you just threw up a little, HA!

The French native shouldn’t be favored over anyone with the form she is in, and Caroline Garcia is closer to retiring than becoming a winner on the WTA Tour.

bet365 has the balls to put Garcia at -145 to win this match, and I find that hysterical!

On the average, a -125 offer can be found on Garcia, but finding the best prices is half the battle. The +110 odds on Pera to defeat Garcia have my attention, and will go in as the play to make.

Pera has always smacked Garcia around, and when a player has someone’s number, I will ride it out until the trend gets bucked.

Admittedly, Pera and Garcia are playing like sh… um, rubbish this year. 

The two reasons I am taking Pera are because she owns Garcia and the favorable odds at +110.

Oddly, the line setters are posting +180 odds on Garcia to sweep Pera and +275 odds on the American to win the match in straight sets. Are we going the distance? Those odds tell me we could be going three sets, and the +350 odds on Pera to win 2 – 1 make my mouth water.

BetMGM has -250 and -300 odds for each player to win any set in this opening-round affair at Indian Wells. Those are some strong odds, so before you settle for that, consider that Pera will win and we’re going the distance!

CAROLINE GARCIA RECENT FORM

Caroline Garcia ended the 2024 campaign earlier than expected in September. After three months away from the court, Garcia has one win in 2025 against Yue Yuan. The other four outings have an L listed next to her name.

The 31-year-old started the week ranked 71st on the WTA Tour, and is following up a dismal 17 – 17 2024 campaign.

BERNARDA PERA RECENT FORM

Bernarda Pera started the 2025 campaign with two wins in Auckland, and then the wheels fell off for the American.

Pera has lost six of her last seven outings, and could use a big win against a familiar foe.

The 30-year-old is ranked 81st on the WTA Tour and oddly dropped seven rankings last year despite her best season. Pera went 37 – 24 last year and produced a winning record on all three surfaces, but her ranking keeps falling.

GARCIA VS PERA HTH –  STAT OF THE MATCH

Pera is 3 – 0 in three meetings with Garcia, and the American took down the France native at Wimbledon last season in three sets.

Pera defeated Garcia at Lausanne in 2019 and again in Doha the following season, both in straight sets.

The winner of this match will face Iga Swiatek in the second round of the BNP Paribas Open. Two words… Buh Bye!
