Golubic produced one of her best seasons on grass in 2023 with an 8 – 4 record but she’s already picked up 2 losses before the 2 qualifying wins in Birmingham. 

Those two losses at Surbiton and Nottingham had to shake a few heads. Naithka Bains isn’t even ranked inside the top 500, and Golubic didn’t even win a damn set against her. If that didn’t make you sick, the effort against Rebecca Marino, ranked 144th in the world, had to leave a bad taste in your mouth.

I know why Osorio is listed at -165 or so depending on your book and when you see this, but I think the Swiss native can at least win a set and make it interesting.  

Osorio dropped a set to 160th-ranked Anastasia Zakharova in her second qualifying bout, and as soon as I saw this matchup I knew what bet we were making.

I expect this to go the distance, I will put it out there that one of these sets will go to a tie-break, and the Over 2.5 Sets is priced fine at +135. I see some strange site called Fortuna offers +140 on the prop, but I don’t expect many folks to have that bookmaker. If you do, go there and get the better value but we will settle for +135 at Pinnacle.

Osorio’s serve seemed to fall apart at the wrong time, and that was after a nearly perfect first set in which she broke Zakharova all three times and held for the 6 – 0 sweep. Camila was broken twice in the second set and twice again in the third, and I think that opens up the door for a wild affair.
