Camila Osorio pulled off an unbelievable win in the second round and now the Spaniard will take on Kamilla Rakhimova in the quarterfinals of the Guadalajara Open.

The first set went to a tie-break and the second set also went the distance and before the start of the third set, Osorio took a medical timeout. Kudermetova had everything going for her in the third set and jumped to a 5 – 0 lead before the match turned around. Osorio won the next 7 games and here we are!

While that result smashed Kudermetova’s confidence to pieces, the win for Osorio gave the Spaniard a day off on Thursday to prepare for this match. Will the shoulder hold up is the question going into this match?

Another good question is if Kudermetova has a headache today because she constantly slams her racquet into her head out of frustration. 

Rakhimova is favored at -140 likely due to the injury to Osorio but Osorio will still have to finish the match to cash out the bet. Expecting Osorio to make it three sets again might be a tall order but she worked this hard to get here and I doubt she’ll walk off the court unless that shoulder pain is unbearable.

Osorio pulled off the impossible on Wednesday and just when it looked like the Spaniard was dead in the water she managed to play her best tennis. 

Recovering from the shoulder injury is a concern but we can only imagine that the training room will be a prime location for Osorio on Thursday. We won’t know the extent of the injury until the end of the event so we’ll see how bad it is soon enough.

With the win on Wednesday, Camila now has a winning record on all three surfaces this season. At 9 – 8 on hardcourts.

Kamilla Rakhimova is 7 – 0 in Guadalajara over the last two weeks and an hour after she gets done with singles play she’ll have to prepare for doubles action.
