Camila Osorio vs Elise Mertens Prediction, Picks, Odds, H2H, Stats - 1/31/25
Camila Osorio will be listed as the underdog when she faces Elise Mertens in the quarterfinals of the Singapore Open.
At odds of -275 to advance to the semis, Mertens is also the favorite to win this WTA250 event overtaking Anna Kalinskaya atop the futures odds.
Will the pressure affect the Belgium native or can she live up to the hype because the odds have shifted in her favor to win this event?
EJ Garr’s prediction for Camila Osorio vs. Elise Mertens features odds at -105 which you can find below.

Odds as of 7:00 am UK Time on January 31, 2025. Odds may now differ.
Anna Kalinskaya is the top seed at the Singapore Open and has been favored to win this WTA250 event since the start of the tournament. I pointed that out yesterday because she was listed at +225 to win the title and Mertens sits atop the futures board at +175.
I cannot remember the last time the top seed in an event was overtaken by another player this late in a tournament.
Regardless of the lines, Mertens needs to perform today and I expect her to do that. I am pointing to this total to stay under 20.5 games. Mertens should be able to overmatch Osorio and advance to the semifinals without losing more than four games in a straight-sets win.
The 2 – 0 Correct Sets prop for Mertens to sweep Osorio has even odds at +100 so there isn’t much discrepancy toward either bet.
Osorio struggled with Dominika Salkova in the second round after losing the first set and having to mount a comeback. We were glad to see that match go the distance because it paid us nicely but this match will not need three sets.
Osorio was also pushed to three sets against Bernarda Pera in the opening round. The 123rd-ranked Colombian native has spent over four hours on the court from two outings this week.
Tired legs and a stronger opponent will be too much for Osorio to endure so expect a low-scoring straight-sets win for Mertens.
CAMILA OSORIO RECENT FORM
Camila Osorio started the week ranked 55th on the WTA tour and has struggled with top 50-ranked opponents. Osorio is 4 – 2 in 2025 and the two losses are against Jabeur and Kudermetova who now sits at 51st.
Osorio has never ranked higher than 55th on the WTA Tour but completed a fourth straight season with a winning record last year.
ELISE MERTENS RECENT FORM
Elise Mertens is ranked 32nd on the WTA Tour and now faces the pressure of being favored to win the Singapore Open. When the main draw was completed, Mertens landed the 2-seed and was listed at +450 behind Kalinskaya and now she is the favorite at +175.
Mertens has produced 10 straight campaigns with a winning record and is 7 – 2 to start the 2025 campaign.
OSORIO VS MERTENS HTH – STAT OF THE MATCH
Elise Mertens is officially 2 – 0 against Camila Osorio. The first meeting at Wimbledon in 2022 ended while Mertens held a 4 – 2 lead in the third set before Osorio retired from the contest.
In the 2023 French Open, Mertens swept Osorio out of the Paris Major but the second set went to a tie-break.
The winner of this match will face Jil Teichmann or Xinyu Wang in the semifinals of the Singapore Open this weekend. Look for my preview and prediction of that quarterfinal affair.
