Maria Camila Osorio Serrano… Let’s just call her Camila. The Colombian native arrives at the second round of the Singapore Open as a -175 favorite to reach the quarterfinals but I am not convinced the path will be so easy.

The line setters are setting up favorite bettors who love parlay material. There will likely be dozens, if not hundreds of people, putting Osorio on the board just to progress because it should be easy to get past Salkova.

Will it? Will it be easy for the Colombian to plow over the 20-year-old Czech Republic native who has taken out Anna Schiedlova, Nao Hibino, and Erika Andreeva in straight sets?

Osorio to win a set in this match has odds at -450 but did you notice the -200 odds for Salkova to win a set? That is some stiff juice to pay for each player to take a set in this second-round clash.

Salkova broke Schmiedlova four times including winning the match with a break in the second-set tie-break to start qualifying. I hope that return of serve helps her win a set and force the game to go the distance.

Camila Osorio went 1 – 1 at Hobart before doing the same at the Australian Open putting her record at 3 – 2 in 2025 after the first round win in Singapore.

Currently ranked 55th on the WTA Tour, Osorio completed a fourth consecutive campaign with a winning record last season.

Dominika Salkova starts the week ranked 163rd on the WTA Tour and the 20-year-old Czech Republic native has already banked 6 ITF tournament titles.

Salkova started the campaign with two losses in the first two events of 2025. At Canberra, Ipek Oz humiliated Salkova who was listed at -450 and didn’t even win a set to kick off the season. 

After another loss at the Australian Open in qualifying to Chwalinska, Salkova has picked herself up and ran off three decent wins at the Singapore Open.
