Dare I say we’re finally seeing the breakout from Bergs that we’ve been waiting for? Known as a talented young player for years, the now-25-year-old is currently sitting at a career-high ranking of 61 off a quarterfinal trip on home soil in Antwerp.
A win in this contest would propel him another few spots and land him in his first semifinal at the main tour level. He is the favourite here and with good reason. He has a very strong game and should be playing plenty of front-foot tennis. If Norrie wasn’t in the rut he’s in with his inconsistencies, perhaps this price would be closer to accurate, but I can’t have Norrie as only a slight underdog now.
He doesn’t have the weapons to hit through Bergs or keep up with him when he’s striking the ball well, his serve is fairly vulnerable and he’s been far too error-prone when trying to ramp up the pace on the forehand side.
Sure, Bergs is prone to some stinkers, but this price has to be well below the 1.70 mark for me.

Zizou Bergs Recent Form
Grigor Dimitrov, Lorenzo Musetti, Juncheng Shang, Adrian Mannarino and Marcos Giron. Those are the only players to beat Bergs on tour since the U.S. Open. He’s stuck in that ranking range where a lot of those matches are coming in early rounds, but he is starting to beat the players he should much more consistently than he ever has.
Those, for me, are all players I’d consider strong in some capacity on hard courts. Norrie was once in that group, but not anymore with how poor he’s been.
It’s a huge chance in a late-season tournament for the Belgian, as he should be able to control the match and play much more offensive tennis.
Cam Norrie Recent Form
This is Norrie’s first time into a quarterfinal at the main tour level since April, and it hasn’t been pretty in getting to this point.
He’s played two underpowered players in Roberto Carballes Baena and Luca van Assche, with the former choking away several leads and being horrible on break points and the latter not being able to hack it at the top level of the sport this season.
I’ve seen nothing that inspires confidence from the lefty this week and this is easily his toughest test yet.
Until I see that incredible solidity return to his game from the baseline, I’m going to continue to oppose him when he plays against the opposition of Bergs’ caliber with the weapons he possesses in this price range.
